Capper banned.

Warwick Capper has been banned for 4 weeks from attending his 8yo sons footy matches.

Capper is not happy and threatening defamation/legal action toward the 'coach' and Joanne is very unhappy that they have destroyed her 8yo's life by "not letting his Dad watch him play footy".

Watch out for the 'they are making an example of me' talk that is sure to follow.

I gotta tell you. My younger brother is an Under 8's umpire, and I would hate to think a grown man could come up to him and slap him and abuse him.
Whatever happened on the day, he overstepped the mark.

Haha they didn't show (or I didn't see) that part of it on the earlier news, but saw it just now.

You'd think that his 'my team mates don't pass me the ball cause they are peeved that I get more money than them' comments would have set of alarm bells years ago....................But if not.........tonight's comments, along with his attitude and facial expressions surely must have proven it...............

............That wearing such tight shorts did really affect the oxygenation of the blood flowing through to the brain...........with many lasting after effects/damage to the self importance sections of the brain.

My gawd this is an under 8's team we are talking about! This is the stage where there is (at least that I know of here in QLD) NO OFFICIAL SCORING!!!! Where the coaches are out on the ground with their teams 'telling' them what to do, where it is club umpires, normally 15yo's or younger officiating.

This is a league where there is a 'we are'nt playing for sheep stations' program going on, and a strict and enforcable and respected code of parental conduct in place. The parent's code of conduct NO WHERE says 'but you can do what you want if you played at AFL level' or 'you only have to respect it if you agree with the coaching and umpiring techniques'...............

I have come across some pretty unreasonable and uruly behaviour of parents and even children in the last year through my involvement in this same junior league ( as some of you will remember ala my 'i coached a team today' post last year ), but NEVER have I experienced or witnessed or even heard of a coach or umpire engaging in such gestures or abusive behaviour as Capper was testifying to today!

That would come under the heading of intimidating the entire crowd.
How is it possible for one man to be such a tool... A character, in the least pleasant sense of the word!

My cousin plays for Southport in the juniors and apparently absolutely nothing happened.

It has blown out of proportion because its Capper - apparently he is talking legal action and he has many people (parents) backing him up. Apparently they had some words but nothing happened.

I mean who knows exactly what happened - but when there is a celebrity involved you have to wonder.

Although on the same token Southport is an arrogant Pr!ck of a club and it wouldnt suprise me if they went that far in a bloody under 8's game!! Suprised 10 parents didnt jump in and belt the bloke. lol

Well there are always 2 sides to a story but the rules are with kids footy support your kid, but ease up on the barracking and try to ignore biased umpiring.
