Can Kane coach? I don’t know. He has done some work for Glenelg.

In fairness to him, he’s getting 1M+ in the media, coaching assistants are paid about 100k

Scott Lycetts last game at West coast was in 2018 grand final win with eagles then head to Port in 2019.

Ken Hinkley also had Jay Schultz, even though it was near the end of his career

We are going to play a GWS forward instead? We have a bunch of forwards from young to mature aged, but most are inexperienced at AFL level or not ready. You need to have the right mix between youth and experience. When we have had younger/inexperienced players ready to play at AFL level they get games.

Chom did show promising signs last yr as a fwd.

He lacks the smarts to read the play and get into space, he doesn't have that issue down back. We picked up Whitlock last year, he will develop better in the VFL than in the AFL in the short term. Realistically Darling is keeping a Teakle or a Pink out of the side playing as a forward rather than a young forward.

I get the criticism, we needed to put on more key forwards and defenders earlier than we did. Darling is only 1cm taller than Zurhaar and Duursma so I think he can fill a variety of roles. Darling isn't keeping Duursma out of the side, Duursma is. He just isn't ready for the AFL standard yet, different players develop at different speeds.

Anyway, i just don’t understand why North (and saints, Richmond etc) fans get annoyed at Kane when his critique applies accountability to their club.

Some of his criticism is spot on. Other things he says he seems to say dumb shit because he knows it will piss people off and that is a tactic that some type of sports commentators use to generate ratings or clicks/views. It is the same tripe that Caroline Wilson does and I am not sure why she hasn't been given the same treatment tbh. Actually, I know why she hasn't... it wouldn't be politically correct.

I don't know what in particular pissed the club off, most of the footy shows are garbage now so I no longer watch them.

Port fans are on the opposite side with Kane.

Fwiw, I think Ken has done a really good job with the list he has.

I think Ken did a great job putting the list together, but he underachieved with it. It is a different problem. My club has been making mistakes for a very long period of time, listened to all sorts of industry experts who made worse calls than throwing darts at a dartboard and you can't just wave a wand and fix long-term problems in a short period of time.

I have my criticism of Clarko, the club, recruiters, development coaches but I see a lot of my club and I can see a lot of the problems we once had that are improving, it just isn't happening as fast as I would prefer.
