With some whispers getting around that Juddy may not be captain next year, i am going to ask who would you like to see as captain should chris be relieved or step down from this honour?

sorry if this has been done already.

NOTE: i have added some logical replacements as well as some left field replacements.

simo for me this guy bleeds for the club, but wouldn't be apposed to laidler taking the reins, he takes the third tall straightens us up and from his position HBF he has an excellent view of the play.

I think we all know it would be Murph and I suppose it makes sense as an elite player.

I would like to see Simmo. Its a shame as our current VC he didn't get a chance to lead the team when Judd was out. Would only make sense? What's the point of being the VC.... Robbo would be great for a 3/4 time pep talk on grand final day.

I think the obvious choice for the club is Murphy.

Jammo would make a great captain though I recon.

I have also said this for quite a few months on this board but I definatly see alot of leadership qualities in Laidler. From an outsider looking in he just appears to be a man who the team look to for leadership on field. The question is, has he been at the club long enough? It would definatly be a left field selection, but would be great to see.

At the beginning of the season I would have had Gibbs as a sure thing as the next captain of the CFC. But the hour did cometh for a man to lead during the darkest times this year and Bryce did cometh not. Murphy did the job well when called upon but I would love Carrots to take over for a couple of years if Juddy does stand down in 2013.

It will be Murphy but i would love to see Carrots for a few years. His professionalism has really impressed me this year, i was one of the ones who thought 2 years back he shouldnt be in the 22 due to him turning the ball over all the time, but now i see him as almost our most important player. I wouldnt be against Simpson aswel.. truely deserving of being captain. Both him and carrots bleed the navy blue and white

I would love for it to be Simmo. He is the heart and soul of the team IMO. It would have been interesting to see if Murph was still captain this year when Judd got suspended had Simmo not been injured.
However, I think Murph will be captain over Simmo because Simmo is 28 and might only have a couple of years left - I think they will want a long term captain which Murph would be.

As long as Simmo gets the premiership medal he deserves - I will be happy.

Murphy is the easy choice but I'd like to see Waite as Captain as long he can stay healthy.

Being captain can bring with it responsibility and I'd rather Murphy keep doing what he's doing and not have the distraction of the captaincy.

For me it's carrots, bleeds navy blue, is tough, presents as a good speaker in the media, and has matured into a good leader on field, it's funny how things can change for the better quickly, I mean not to long ago, people were calling for him to be moved on, me being one I must say, and I'll be the first to take a huge bite of the humble pie.

Who is "whispering" that Judd won't be captain next season? Do we need to change for the sake of it?
There is no one on that list who immediately looks like an adequate replacement for 2013. But maybe in a few years Murphy will be the right choice based on age, experience, improved leadership skills and he is the best player in the team.

I love a captain who can physically impose themselves on a match when needed. Voss, Ricciouto, Hodge, Brown etc etc. Besides Robbo, I'm not sure who on that list can do that.

If I remember correctly one of the reliable posters (EP, Crane, etc...) posted that the players will vote on the next captain. If it is Judd, then so be it, he will be captain again.

Has to be somebody tough, somebody who can usually be counted upon to play most if not all games, somebody vocal both on and off the pitch, someone who is inspirational in play as well as in speaking.... For 2013 and 2014 that person is Andrew Carrazzo (ignoring the gutless sniping injury this year - wasn't due to injury proneness) but Simmo would also be perfect (again ignoring the sniping injury). For 2015 and beyond I'd give it to Marc Murphy or Matthew Kreuzer if he can prove himself to be healthy long term - I can see Kreuzer being a modern day Big Nick.
