Carlton a flag chance in 2026.

To be a flag chance they need to be much better than their best recent season of 2023. They might be better than in 2025, but to win a few more games than 2023 would be surprising.
Need to much better than 2023? If we were much better than in 2023 we'd be a lock for the flag.

I doubt we get near our 2023 form but I'll wait and see some actual games in 2026 before dismissing it entirely.

Yes they need to be much better than their 13 H&A win season to contend next year. Much like Geelong needed to be much better than their 13 H&A season of 2018 to contend in the following years.

Brisbane 2024 are the only side in recent history to win a flag with a relatively unimpressive H&A win/loss ratio (14-8-1) but did it on the back of several top 4 finishes and were reigning grand finalists - i.e a run of contending.

16 wins and a good % was required for top 4 in 2025, so that would be the first thing for Carlton to tick off.

Im staggered any campaigner thinks Carlton will get anywhere near 16 wins next year. Except Walshy of course

Where have I said we'll get anywhere near 16 wins next year?
It's a common trait of Pies fans from the other thread. You say one thing and then they take it to some ridiculous extreme and say "OH BOY LOLOL" and think they have "got you" but really it's just a blatant misrepresentation of the truth.

Oh so youre saying we're commoners now?

GOTCHA!

;)

While anything is possible, even the most passionate Carlton fan wouldn’t believe this. It’s possible they’ll make it to the finals, but a premiership is highly unlikely.
I remember this time in 2016 and not even the most one eyed Richmond fan believed they were a chance to win the flag in 2017.

Carlton have had the following ladder finishes under Voss.
9th
5th
8th
11th

This is eerily similar to Port Adelaide who had the following ladder finishes in their first 4 years under Hinkley.
7th
5th
9th
10th

People wanted Hinkley sacked but he was retained and ended up taking Port Adelaide to the top 4 on four occasions. Voss could take Carlton to the top 4 if he makes the right tweaks.

Did Port undergo, what is essentially a reset. Because Carlton has done a Ctrl-Alt-Del and are basically starting again.

Pretty sure results don’t exactly duplicate from team to team. Who knows

Wingard was traded and he was like Curnow a star x factor forward.

Voss was an assistant under Hinkley for years so he knows what it takes to get a team into the top 4 after making a few tweaks to a mid table side.

Winguard was traded after 2018. Port went 5th and 10th in years 5 and 6 under Hinkley. They then went 10th again in year 7.

Carlton aren't waiting 3 more years, even if they do go 5th in 2026. A 10th and 10th in 2027 and 2028 will se Voss sacked.

I confidently predict that Carlton wont get near the top 4... rather will be closer to the bottom 4.

Their list is way off as effectively gone a rebuild.
