It is the strangest trade I can think of with the unpredictability of this draft we probably get the player we wanted anyway if we go to the draft with the picks we had.

What does that say about our other young mids if we are that keen on Pedlar. We’ll most likely need to move up to get him.

I do like him otherwise. Hard as nails and plenty of urgency around the contest.

Where do you reckon James Rowe sits on that list could he still be a chance to get with our first or second pick??

30. Luke PEDLAR

Clubs: Glenelg/South Australia

Position: Midfielder

Size: 183cm/80kg

Bio: Pedlar is one of the stronger contested bulls in the draft pool. He has power that many other prospects don’t have, willing to fight hard to win the ball for his side. He averaged 5.3 tackles in the SANFL U18s this year and averaged 21.8 disposals. He still has some work to do on his finishing with ball in hand, but Pedlar’s key role is the win the ball from the stoppages and get it moving to goal.

Concerns with the finishing part. Quality ball users should be paramount in our drafting.

Twomey has him at #24 as of 1 day ago: https://www.afl.com.au/news/527263/...-draft-top-30-late-picks-your-club-s-whispers

Agreed, like his highlight reels. Multiple efforts, possession seemed clean and hart as a cats head. Bit of explosive pace. Seems to be what we hope Cuners and Dow could be to reinforce your comment.

We’re keen on Poulter. Pedlar secondary. If they’re both around come end of the first round, expect us to try trade our two picks in the 30s with GWS or Saints (I’ve been saying this For weeks and I’m still told it’s on the cards).

Cheers reg 👍
Good to see you.

He is a south aussie , Maybe Crows might look at him with 22 or 23

Sounds like Poulter is the dream scenario, Pedlar is the likely scenario.

I didn't mind the footage I saw of Pedlar. Wins plenty of contested ball, and then spreads to good spots around the ground to link up. Not a nice kick, but effective enough. Mainly uses his hands to create around the ground.

I'd liken him to Sheed. Looks capable of playing AFL pretty early on, but doesn't have a huge amount of upside. Impressive hunger to win the hard ball though, and is obviously helped by a strong body.

Overall I'd rather we target other areas of the ground, but it's interesting we're looking at midfielders. Maybe we've got some real concerns about the way our current crop and want to bring in what we'd project as a pretty safe AFL standard midfielder who will contribute early on.

Do you have any info of Rowe and Wehr?

Do we have any interest in the 2nd round or would the be more of a consideration late in the draft? E.g. rookie picks.

Lets hope not. If we're picking Rowe that early in the draft, it means something has gone horribly wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised if we took highmore with 1 of our picks. Ginnivan/Mitchell with our 3rd

Highmore is immediate mature KPD depth. I like the way he reads the play. I'd be happy to have him as a Jones replacement even if he is only 193cm. Has the leap.

Kind of hope it's the other way around. Pedlar would be a better fit, however, he appears to have a lot of interest from the mid teens to mid 20's.

Doesn't sound like Poulter is much chance of going in the first round. Early to mid second seems to be his range at the moment, however, things can change quickly depending on how things play out on the night.

Ed curnow replacement

Not sure why people are surprised by the talk about Poulter.

I picked him in the phantom draft last week and told you all he was my guy this year.

Surely I haven't gone and done it all again after last year?

Will you strip naked
