Tapscott has 6 midway through the third quarter.

Magner, Bail and Gawn the other bests.

I know they're playing Franga, who could be described as the VFL Melbourne, but still.

Can somebody confirm if Magner can be promoted from the rookie list or not? I thought you got one freebie no matter what, but if that's true (and not saying it is, because it's hard to keep up with all the rule changes) it doesn't look like we're using it.

Good day for Casey looking at their twitter. Maybe some of these plodders would actually like to bring their form to the AFL. Not hard to score a spot in this shit side. Apparently Dean Kent kicked a ripping goal.

I think it was that you could promote rookies if you had a senior squad under 40 people, or something like that.

As we have 40 (I believe) on the main list and four on the rookie with the new rule I don't think there's an allowance to go further than that to promote Magner and make it 41 and 3.

It's confusing. :D

I believe it was that you were allowed to promote a rookie when the Veterans list was one short.

should have been on the main list before Roden.

Gawn back in the 22 would be wonderful. I know it won't solve any of out problems but at the very least it will give me some hope for the future. and that is something I desperately need

I suggest a kneecapping of a player we don't need (Rodan for example) to get him on the LTI list and put Magner up.

Tapscott, Kent, Bail and Gawn should be in this week IMO.

Happy to avoid months of "will he, won't he" bullshit and take out Sylvia.

Good on Tappy but I personally want to see him string 3 good games together in the VFL before we bother. He has a heap of talent and some serious mongrel but we rarely see it. I don't think he has played 1 good game for the Dee's

G'day guys, dont hold it against me being a Bombers supporter but I went along and had a look at the Casey v Frankston game today. So much talk in local ragz about Frankston's off season recruiting, but it was such a fizzer. The Melbourne listed players were simply far to big and strong.

Of the Melbourne listed guys a couple really stood out;

Luke Tapscott was obviously the standout, his kicking was a true feature of todays often scrappy game. Kicked a coupld of ripper goals into the breeze. Marked strongly on a couple of occasions and genuinely looked to good for this level.

Max Gawn had a ripper day, took some fantastic contested marks and kicked truly for two majors. His ruckwork especially in the centre bounces was good. Gave the Casey onballers first use for the most parts. With Jamar struggling, it would not be surprising to see big Max back in the seniors next week after a fantastic all round game today.

Jake Spencer was another who, despite not having the physical prescence of big Max was very good in the ruck duels with a very good VFL ruckmen in Russel Gabriel.

I was looking out more for the Frankston recruits (Jason Pongracic, Russel Gabriel, Ziggy Alwan) but one name did continue to shine out for me. #70 Mitch Clisby was a running machine from half back for the Scorpions. Used the ball really, really well and gave plenty of drive all day. He is still a rookie (?) but do not be surprised to see him get a gig later in the year if he continues to play games like he did today.

on a subnote; saw a lot of the Development League game (which Frankston won, that sides first away victory in 4 years for the record) and Melbourne listed player Rory Taggert simply did not look like he wanted to be there. LAzy and slow off the mark, may have been carrying something but he was not even VFL reserves standard today.

If you feel like shooting any questions about todays game(s) at me, go ahead and I will try and help out :thumbsu:

Correct.

They essentially disbanded the veterans list in its previous form. Now the standard is 40 on the senior list regardless of number of veterans. In the old form you could have more than 2 veterans but 2 slots were veterans only.

The only thing I'm unsure on is whether they still have the mid-year nominated rookie option. This is a rookie who can get the nod after r11 regardless of senior list make-up. Either way its a long wait though.

Did a few nice things in the second half once the game was virtually Casey's.

Surprised about Taggert's form, he's always looked strong when I've seen him out there.

Yep, terrible news for mine. Cross another off the list.

If we're going to cross Demons off the list for a poor game, then we wouldn't have a side.

I don't ever remember that being removed, but either way Magner's promotion just looks too far away, unfortunately.

There's glass half full or half empty & then there's SSF's 'glass is not only empty but it is smashed the ground & you cut your wrists with the shards.'

I know that feel. :(
