Would love Dunn in the forward line of the seniors next week, but I can't see that happening because;

a) The coaching staff have no faith in him to play there
b) He's no chance of getting near the forward line tomorrow with Newton, Hughes, Watts, Jurrah and to a lesser extent Petterd down there too.

Cheney (is he on the GC) and McNamara could play very well and push for a spot in the backline, but they would have to be lucky. Bartram or Dunn could dominate and grab their spots back - there's a few in the pies team worth tagging. Valenti would be a chance again.

But lets be honest the real interest is on the key forwards tomorrow.

I can't see Martin getting another game up front, and Miller is on thin ice. Robbo probably only needs a few goals and to chase to be back in the side. But what can Juice do? Can Watts play a huge game and demand selection? Is Liam Jurrah a massive freak who can kick 10? Danny Hughes isn't that far off for mine, and would slot in nicely at half forward if he has the fitness, could he put in a blinder and be a shock selection?

hopefully strauss plays seniors not in the reserves

Newton or Hughes would be a huge chance if they had decent games tomorrow. Both of them can get get it but neither can kick straight. Newton, however, is surprisingly good at chasing - which is something we're completely lacking at the moment.

2's are playing Bullants. 25pts up 22 min 3rd quarter. ZOMG is at FF, Wheatley on and off every five seconds but a class above most of the others.

Confirmed Strauss is in reserves.

2's win 19.16.130 to 12.9.81. Preston got a couple late to keep it respectable.

I only saw 2nd half, so wait for the coaches report but Strauss didn't get an enormous lot of it running off hb but looked good when he did. Zomer kicked a couple but doesn't do much to set him apart from the other forward line contenders, and Wheatley was good but clearly nowhere near 100% fitness.

I think Strauss needs to prove himself for more than 1 week to earn a recall, they are trying to win games. He struggled to make the transition so was dropped after having a few games in the reserves and proving himself he will probably be promoted.

If McDonald can't play next week I'd like too see us bring in Cheney and send Grimes into the midfield.

Gives Cheney the chance to play again at the top level which he has earned and deserves and gives Grimey some time in the middle so we can see how he goes there.

Send Cheney to take Grimes' place on the half back line and send Grimes to take up Juniors role in the middle.

A win for everyone, except Junior if that knee turns out to be a bit sore which I hope it isn't.

7.9.51 to 4.4.28.

Newton 3, Hughes 2, Jurrah 1, Robbo 1.4 and one touched on the line.

Dunn killing it in the middle, Watts struggling to get it on a wing, Petterd and Jetta having a 'mare.
