I am starting to believe. I reckon we are building nicely and there is some depth as well so competition for spots will be interesting.
Oh it's real. We've seen enough seasons since 2007 to know when it's real or not, surely.

And Cam Guthrie looked good last week. And Martin is a wildcard. And we can play a forward line without all three big players. And even Duncan is back to being useful.

Screw jinxing them. It's on. Believe.

Chris Scott Masterclass.
Holmes All-Australian 🔒
Good call on Baz.
Stengle kicking sublime.
Jack Martin off half back.
Stewart back to his best.
Jack Henry immense.
Miers so so important.
Irish boys silencing a few.
Atkins doing what he does.

A lot to like. Can see us not losing another from here.

5 goals conceded and only 1 of them was us actually being outplayed. 2 for terrible free kicks and 2 for us turning it over for no reason under no pressure.

Downsides being Neales injury and Cameron losing his 28-game streak of kicking at least 1 goal a game.
And Cameron was millimetres from extending that!

Bax out pre game with an awareness

Scratcher out with an akle tha tmight not be too good.

Holmes gets 40.
Stengle gets 4 and was insturmental.

MOC sits on Rowell and really does a great job.
Atkins a beast as usual.

Zuth, Jack Henry, SDK, Lawson, BLitz all good.

Stanley did well all game long

Miers, CLohesy and Stewy all did well.

Jack Martin good start to the Cats 22

Dempsey good too...

Jezza was a bit quiet but its not a big mans night....

Cos was good too.

PFD bloke as handy at times too.
Got the 4 points and so moving onto next week

Umps were shit for a while... and then decided to stop being ****ing spiders.

Excellent brief summary dazbronocos:... agree on all accounts and glad you picked up on MOC, one of his very best games and taking his footy to another level, especially when taking into consideration his opponents in mainly Rowell but also Anderson. Jack Martin also a excellent first-up game for Cats and expect him to be best 23 come finals if body holds up. 👏

I am really going to enjoy watching Ted Clohesy for the next 10+ years

If he's playing 10 years it's probably going to be at another club realistically. But I do like him

That game made me a believer for our credentials this season. Tough conditions, hard contested game, opposition got a run-on due to some dodgy decisions and our boys never dropped their heads or gave up on the scrap. Professional win over another possible contender for the flag.

Max Holmes is a jet. I think underrated still. Him in full flight with the ball in hand is a thing of beauty.

Close, Atkins, Miers all great in the conditions with the former two great in the clutches and Miers just impeccable (sans one or two kicks) with his passing and vision.

Just quietly, Rhys Stanley is having a good season. I think most Geelong supporters hoped Conway would get fit and up to being our first ruck this season but Stanley is playing well, running hard, contesting and honestly looks like he could go another year or two.

Tyson Stengle: the difference, especially when it was close. In a game like that you need forwards to take their opportunities and he was golden. Fewer things make me happier as a footy fan than seeing Tys smiling, up-and-about.

Loved the post-match song with the kids in the middle. So many things like that this club does just makes me happy. There will always be errors on-field and we can't win every Premiership but once again we look set to contend and I'll take that every day over bottoming out in the hopes of future success. Bloody love this team.

Who is that square headed one, the Fox commentator on the end of the panel?

I've noticed he's always backing us, and a nice foil to Kings Geelong slander.
Can see King's sphincter muscles grinding. Last game he wanted to talk us up too. .
This week he's saying nothing to see with Stewart, should be more of it.
I wouldn't go that far, but at least he's very fair.

This win was gutsy.

PFD, Stewy, Jezza all relatively quiet.

The team got this done.. not the stars.

The evolution continues

Stewart is in a whole world of hurt.
I love those bumps (and I copped a heap)

But they'll get him for something. Head hitting the ground, running passed the ball..
I've never bought into "Is the bump dead?" narratives but if they report/suspend Stewart for that then maybe it is. He went the man fairly, hit him in the mid-section/shoulder. If that's suspendable then why bump at all?

It's Jay Clark. Journo. He's an idiot.

Why? Didn’t get him high and didn’t leave the ground

He couldn’t get out of the way and no high head contact
