Change to Cod 4?

Hello i play COD WAW a lot on PS3, i am level 45 on the 3rd prestige and play mainly search and destroy and capture the flag (sometimes team deathmatch), anyway the game to me is no longer as addictive as it was back when i was like 1st prestige and i am sometimes finding it a little boring.

Yesterday i played COD 4 at a mates for the first time (I thought it was to late for COD 4 when i got my PS3), and i loved it, played about an hour of Team deathmatch and it was pretty mad, but the question is do you think its worth buying COD 4 GOTY edition with the maps for $49? which will last me 6 months and 10 days till Modern Warfare 2 hits, or do you think COD 4 will get a bit boring like COD WAW has? opinions really needed .. Thanks

Also are there still many people on COD4 as opposed to COD WAW PS3 i mean? who plays COD 4 here?

Personally, I preferred COD4 over WAW, and for 50$ with the additional maps, you can't go wrong.

After you've played WAW for as long as you have, I don't know if you will find 4 boring. Personally, I think the maps, weapons and atmosphere of COD4 is far better than WAW, but it is pretty much the same as WAW with a different theme.

Can't speak for the PS3 version obviously, but when I play on XBL, there's always heaps of people. Still one of the highest played games on live.

Definitely worth the $50, Camo can confirm that there is still a thriving community.

When looking at buying games I break down how much is costs versus how much game time I will probably get out of it... so...


a) COST = $50 for CoD4 with MapPack

b) GAMETIME = Harder to predict but as other have said COD4 >>>> COD:WAW. COD4 still has large online support (on XBL atleast, so I imagine same for PS3). Lets say average 2 hours a day for 1 month... gives you 60 hours of game time.

Result: less then $1 an hour = cheap ass entertainment... anything extra just increases its value.

The only thing that sucks with COD4 is trying to find Australian server games. COD4 doesn't have local server feature like WAW. Still you will often find Australian/NZ servers when playing from 4pm - Midnight. Either that or add a lot of Aust/NZ friends as you come across them and hook into their games.

cod4 will probably always have a relatively strong community....
lately i'll have one or two people on my friends list playing waw and about 8 playing modern warfare..... (4-12pm) almost all have both so they've all returned to cod4...

on a side note i played a decent session last night and i am so rubbish atm it is crazy

and i don't know just how big a deal 50 dollars is to you zebrass but if you played that much world at war i think you should get at least as much out of the superior (imo) game in cod4

not that any of you care but i'm tired as all hell right now.....had one game of ground war and got 66 3 9 so i think i've got my mojo back hehe

I used to have alot of trouble finding Australian/NZ games on COD4, but lately, I find them fairly easily. I have the 'AUS' tag on my name, so I don't know how much that helps.

The local search option on WAW is definitely a plus, green ping games all the time. Local search feature + COD 4 = awesome online experience.

i'm not sure if the [AUS] tag does anything...i have it too but only do it so people know they're in an aus server type thing seeing other aussies are in room

if cod4 had a local search feature my win loss record would be like 80-1 ahaha
instead it's like 1-1 from leaving so many games straight after entering.
not only that but i would've played hundreds of more games to!

to sound as level headed as possible to that.... i have extremely quick reflexes....not only that but i can and do outsmart/outmaneuver opponents (think rugby step kind of thing) 90% of the time...(when in form/not as tired as all hell)
not only that but i find it very easy to read where players are/will be on the map, which helps me rack up kills ALOT quicker than people normally can.
that goes for any fps game even if i've played it just a couple of times...(it does help ALOT knowing the maps inside out though.)

CoD4 is like 10 times better than CoD5.

thats similar to me but i dont have the 66 on the front lol only got my first chopper last night love the game but there is some serious lag between my brain and my fingers.
