McDonald and Aish is a no brainer. Either banners or aish sub.

Aish is a good wet weather player.

I have hope Pearce may get off - there’s been so much recent angst with the AFL by the clubs and players, including about the tribunal system and haphazard approach to concussion. Maybe this will be when they right the course from an outcome based system.
Personally I'd have Aish as sub if brought in and play Banners in defence, I haven't watched Aish at Peel but unless he's fallen off a cliff I'd have him in easily.

I had a look at the results earlier and was surprised to see that Gold Coast have only played twice at home so far this season vs Adelaide and vs Sydney. One other home game vs Essendon cancelled/postponed.

The other games are 3 Games in Melb, 2 in Darwin, 1 at the Gabba, 1 in Perth, and 1 in the Barossa.

Leo Lombard making his debut against us this weekend.

If they're going to trial it again, after the bye vs Xerri seems the logical move... if it doesn't work against him, then there is probably no other team it's worth playing them both against. Him and Gawn are literally the only two ruckmen that I think are too big for Dogga, he's got everyone else covered with his athleticism.
Gawn also pantsed Darcy earlier this season.
Whether you like it or not, Witts is actually the best opponent to bring Darcy in for, Jackson will likely get wrestled by Witts and lower his colours. JL indicated as much already anyway in his presser today.

When JL says 'horses for courses', this is the exact game he is referring to when making Darcy no 1.

Now whether Darcy is ready or not, I don't know. But I know if he was fit he's in as lead ruckman 100%.

I used to think this but maybe, if Dogga is fit and firing, this is the sort of match up where he can really maximise the advantages he has over the lumbering ruck types...namely post ruck ground balls, around the ground link up play and pushing hard forward, particularly towards the end of the game, and run Witts off his feet.

In conjunction with this, I'd be unleashing the inner animal in Vossy and get him to hone the aim of his leading knee into the rib cage of Witts...over and over again.

Come the second half of the third quarter and into the last we want him to be exhausted and sore and watch Jackson take full advantage.

I would have more confidence in 5 or 6 of you guys here on BF challenging this successfully than I would our legal team. Several good points already made here but our lawyers won't mention them.
Yea see I don’t really buy this argument and never have.
It doesn’t matter who **** we’ve had representing us as our legal counsel.

No amount of legal clout can/could overturn the inherent bias from the AFL judiciary when they’ve already made up their mind based solely on what teams colours the player wears

JL made it pretty clear in his press conference today that Banfield won't be sub. So it'll be interesting to see if he plays defence or they put him on the wing and move Wagner back. As good as Banners was on the weekend, not sure you want someone who has (virtually) never played in the backline playing on one of Ainsworth, Humphrey Long, Rosas etc. - despite his versatility.

I think Banfield plays his best when he has a role like this and particularly locking down on a player. Better than relying on him kicking the winning goal.
