I understand the temptation to put Wags back with the defenders but I really like his defensive mindset in the mids of late.

I'd love for him to play a similar role on Anderson as he did on Butters Saturday night. Watching GC of late you notice that Anderson and Rowell love to "one-two" a lot and seem to feed off that somewhat. If we can break that nexus it will go a long way to getting on top in the middle.

Wags has been a massive positive this year. I would say he's one of our more composed players so far and regularly makes the right choice with ball in hand.

Keep giving him challenges as he seems to flourish with a bit of responsibility.

Why are people so keen to send Wagner back? He's done well in the middle.

Who else do you send back?

We probably don't have another player other than maybe Banfield who could go back there. Maybe Aish, but his WAFL form has been poor.

If NOD was fit and firing, then swapping him for Simpson, with Wagner going back makes a lot of sense. (Just coming back from injury, and I think this is a week too soon)

I think in reality we have these options

1. Play Banfield back.
2. Play Aish back - I don't think his form has been good enough.
3. Play Banfield Wing, and move Wagner back
4. Rush NOD back. I am guessing this is 1 week too early, I want him to have a full game in the WAFL.

Wagner to Anderson probably makes the most sense. So that means either Banfield or Aish goes back. Banfield is my call.

He should go straight to Noah Anderson and do the same as he has done with Daicos and Butters.

Risky, as it's unknown, but maybe do start banners in the backline and have Aish as sub. So if it's not working out can move the magnets around and sub in Aish.

Think they want to leave Wags in the midfield rotation , otherwise he would of probably gone back once Simpson went off

Driz didn't look good in the WAFL on the weekend. But could be limited mins he played or he isn't still 100%

Aish was the best player at Peel on the weekend and can play back, or wing if need be. Noddy needs more minutes. Wagner is needed as a run with player / tagger on Anderson.

Our Emergencies for last week were Draper, Aish and Reidy - so probably pretty straight forward if Pearce is out as well.

Aish -> Simpson
Draper -> Pearce

Sub, one of Banners or Aish.

Wagner 180cm compared to Anderson 192cm

That is much more Erasmus or Johnson territory. Banfield too...

But Touk Miller... 1.78cm... that's the target

Rowell is the same height as Wagner and far more damaging than Miller. He worries me more than anyone else in their midfield.

I really want to see how Rowell's involvement in their stoppages works to Anderson's advantage. Whichever of Rowell or Miller is most handballing to Anderson to clear (he is their best clearance player last two weeks at least).

Maybe Serong on Rowell head to head.

Whichever we go with, we need to contain their mids. Otherwise we knows what happens when we get belted in the middle and clearances, the rest gets ugly 😉

Witts would be a whole new level of challenge for Jackson by himself. Might need the big fella for this one.
Witts doesn't jump anymore and holds at every opportunity yet somehow the umpires won't give Jackson any free kicks.

Not too worried about Witts outside of purely hitouts. Dude is slow around the ground, mainly handballs, and averages less than 2 marks a game this season.
Dogga will simply need to read the taps better that Witts win and destroy him at ground level and out-run him.

Not sure why we are concerned with their mids just need our boys to go get the footy first. Attack the footy be first at the contest not trying to be defensive unless we are getting beaten. We have the best ruck and midfielders in the comp back yourself in.

??? Aish leading disposals for Peel and in the best players.
He’s experienced and can slot in as it’s a role he’s been playing for the last 2 seasons.
He’s actually a winger/midfield but coaches put him back to free up Clark a few seasons back.

Draper or McDonald come in. Not as half bad but with Gold Coast’s midfield, it’ll be a long day

Would you trade Jackson, Serong, Brayshaw and Bolton for Witts, Miller, Anderson and Rowell? I wouldn't.

They have home ground advantage but we have an extra days break. Game on, should be close.
