I reckon we give the triple towers another crack. In a game full of defensive football I wouldn't mind Maj swinging forward being that third option. E.g. Pittard goes back and Maj becomes that third threat in the air. Definitely not the best in terms of defensive pressure, but it allows us to clunk more of those 50/50s when they come rather than gifting the opposition rebound 50s.

Are all/any changes this week are either form, availability, or management during the compressed fixture section, and none due to injury ?
Wow that's quite a KO ur for us
Officially, I can never guess what our selection is going to be. Every game so far this season, I’ve been thinking that Maj is going to come back in. However, this week, I had decided it wasn’t going to happen! Lo and behold...

Maj forward makes sense. Play one high and the other two closer to goal.

That's probably what I would do.

He plays forward with Walker & I would throw Browny around a bit, if we don't rest him, B-Mac or Taz.

We’re only missing Cunnington from the lineup. Ziebell the other. No excuses. That’s it.

Did anyone else see cunners was kitted out for training in majs video.... all the other injured players had north T-shirt on ie tt and jz but cunners had the singlet.... maybe reading too much into it

I reckon BBB has a bit of an ultimatum now. Once things shake out he might be the odd one out on form and balance.

You've got Tarrant and McKay as locks for KPD, Maj and JW as swingmen and BBB and Larkey as KPF. As shrewd a pickup as it was I don't think we envisioned JW playing as well as he has and pushing himself so far up the pecking order, he's almost undroppable at this stage.

Personally I think Maj needs to play in defence, it's his best position and it's going to be hard for him to find touch as a forward with the way we're currently playing. McKay should be a lock, as I mentioned before. He is the future back there and just needs reps.

That leaves JW forward with Nick Larkey, who is a lock for the same reasons as McKay, is important structurally and did look good his first run back. Unless of course we play 3 genuine talls forward, which would severely hamper our ability to pressure and is unsustainable long term. I think we'll stick by BBB as much as possible, but it'll be interesting to see how this unfolds the rest of the season.
Good post.

If BMac can make that kpd position his AND Daw gets back to where he was a few years ago we have a surplus big man. Hard to believe but true (not even allowing for Comben/Xerri who are both a fair way off at this stage.)

A lot of ifs and buts there but the scenario you paint has implications beyond this year. That's the reason we need to play these guys now - to see whether they are in the mix for next year.

No chance JW or Larkey get dropped in the current circumstances - JW in first 5 picked; Larkey we are building the forward line around.
