I think NOD's past month has been terrible because he was pushed into the Sharp role solo. It's where our players go to die. They had been using NOD, Wagner, Johnson in some sort of rotation since Sharp was booted, but then Wagner and Johnson got injured in Rd 19 versus Collingwood, and JOM was just coming back from injury. NOD took it on by himself, usually at the top of the tracker for km covered, and did just what Sharp did.

Then on the weekend it was JOM and Wagner into the void, mixed in with some close checking roles (especially JOM on Richards), and both had very quiet games for possessions (yes, I know Wagner was subbed out, but he was quiet on the stats sheet up until then).

It's just a position in our side where the player gets very little in the way of possessions. Whether NOD or Johnson comes in, I would expect them to take on whatever Wagner was doing against the Dogs and not get much of the ball. I suspect it might be NOD as he is the one with the miles in his legs and the better WAFL performance. But I think the staff might rate Johnson higher, so I won't be surprised either way.
Think should just throw JOM there and do his defensive work. He’s a limited player so that role is perfect for him. If NOD comes in, has to be as the offensive winger who comes in around stoppages.

Johnson was more likely the match up for Noah Anderson than Wagner anyway

wonder if the AFL are happy that GC has made finals so they can tick that box, or they want them to win a final too? I didn't notice the umps much during the bullies game. Hoping that trend continues now we're at finals but bit wary about the GC factor blowing up the whistle. 🤷‍♂️

Gold Coast will have like five fans at the game. Can't make that much noise compared to us surely.

At some point you'd hope the Freo fairytale - a la the Bloods drought ender or the Dogs in 2016 - has to kick in. These expansion team blow-ins will have their day.

Of course, we are going to have to do this the hard way, aren't we?

Fyfe is completely cooked , not playing him is probably more motivational than playing him

Take your opportunities when they come along because no matter who you are you run out of chances sooner than you’d like

Lol at the people saying Darcy was one of our best , at best you could say he maybe had the better of the HOTA but we were very lucky English dropped a few marks he would normally take

Darcy was good. The stats don't tell the whole story. Just watching it again now. He was very important

All bias and chips on our shoulders aside, I think wa teams (and to lesser extent sa teams) have it harder than anyone. Our first premiership will be one the hardest earnt out of all the new teams in the afl era.

I wouldn’t be writing GC in as our opponent.

Wednesday night will be a super weird game, GC coming off a 5 day break, I could see them winning by 20 points or something either by starting hot then cruising, or just doing enough, and then suddenly we’re playing Hawks.

Good call.

It would be interesting to see how Port played GC. Reports are they put a lot of work into Rowell, and limited his impact and the other players didn't lift.

but I am getting ahead of myself.

In - MJ, NOD
Out - Wags, Fyfe

NOD gets the vest, hes the perfect sub. Reality suggests that Fyfe is absolutely playing, which is fine.
So it ultimately comes down to MJ v NOD if Wags is the only out.
Fyfe has played 247 games

We have 4 games to go this season (his last)

This champ is going to be known as a 250 game dual brownlow medalist (and 🤞premiership player)

He aint getting dropped

Unfortunately there will be heaps of WC supporters turning out and im sure they will be cheering for GC😳
I'd like to think most of our regular gameday members go, then we have a quite a few non members that are really desperate to go and buy the tickets quicker than w**ker West Coast fans that have nothing better to do with their Saturday night.

Favourable matchup against Gold Coast but it would much more satisfying to knock out those campaigners at Hawthorn. Bring on whoever we get.

Out: Wags
In: Johnson / NoD

Honestly, it's a bit of a coin flip between those two. I really like NOD and think he had a great game for Peel, but Johnson never got "dropped", so I'd lean towards him.

Outside of an all QLD final there's not much incentive. Mind you, the AFL got a WA team in and hosting...with the NRL coming in in a couple of years...

Just saying, conspiracy cuts both ways here

If GC are dead serious they’ll flog Essendon but yes it is a weird game and yes Essendon have had an extra day break.

Carlton played pretty average really and beat them by 34 pts.

I’m expecting us to play GCS but I guess anything can happen.

For a while I thought it was a bit overblown, but have now personally seen multiple west coast fans in opposition jumpers at our games this year.

I find it very bizarre, and ultimately supporter bases aren't thatttt different, so presumably there's some sad dockers fan doing it at an Eagles game, to which I say are you ok??

Worst I've done is shown up to Eagles games with mates that support their opposition.

One of my best mates supports Sydney. I wear a random vaguely red-coloured shirt from my wardrobe if it's an Eagles game. As for actually spending extra money on Sydney gear - **** that - whatever I paid for the ticket was enough.

How do you know? Chardonnay purchases? Booing? Leaving in the third quarter?
