good point E87. theres just something about hunter which isnt doing it for me at the moment. in saying that Bmac has been very average, but he'll get the advantage over hunts because of his youth.

i want mitch brown as a forward as well and it seems hunter and him are competing for a spot.

no to wilkes plz.

Thought Selwood was pretty impressive myself. Definitely leave him in there.

I'd drop Hunter personally. Maybe McKinley but at least Ben has a future. Unfortunately I think Hunts is on his last legs :(

Wilkes ahead of Scott Selwood.

Scooter ahead of Wilkes. Daniel Metropolis coming out of football retirement ahead of Wilkes. My 8 year old nephew ahead of Wilkes.

Seriously though, Wilkes is a ways down the pecking order and shouldn't get games unless we have injury issues. I don't rate Wilkes at AFL level. Good for Claremont though.

I apologise if I'm becoming repetitive, but I think McKinley is being played out of position. If they are going to play him, it has to be leading from the goalsquare. He's not a flanker's backside and never will be. If they want a flanker, maybe Houlihan could be an option.

Gee, people are being harsh on Scooter. He was pretty good.

All midfield players out of the 22 have a chance to come back in: Houlihan, Swift, Stenglein, Fletcher;):p, McGinnity,Ebert.

Surely Schoey would be the perfect match up for Goodes!
Ummm NO
Would get Smashed.
Wanna know what happened to MacKenzie..

S.Selwood did sweet FA.
You would say it was due to match ups with tall to smalls.
Plus Scooter was moping up well in defencive half.

My Outs: Priddis (Inj), Kerr (inj), McKinley, Schofield.
My Ins: Stenglein, MacKenzie, Brown, Houlihan
Why
Out: Mckinley: wasn't Working hard enough AGAIN today and The smaller ground.
Ins: Stenglein: We need experiance in the middle with the loss of Kerr and Priddis with Goodes, Kirk and Co.
Brown: Must play forwrd after Dropping Mckinley we need another marking target and its either him Notte or Hansen.
Mackenzie: Should be straight back in unless injuried, will take sydneys CHF.
Houlihan: Reward for performances in WAFL and Schofield IMO was pretty ordinary.

The Team I would have v Syd:
FB: B.Jones, Glass, Wirrpanda
HB: Hurn, Mackenzie, Nicoski
C: Rosa, Butler, A.Selwood
HF: Embley, Kennedy, Cockie
FF: Brown, Lynch, LeCras
RR: Cox, Stenglein, Masten
INT: Houlihan, S.Selwood, Spangher, McNamara

Emg: Swift, McGinnity, Schofield
Swift - the Traveling EMG.

Surprised by that, Scott was good today. Were you at the game? Because he actually worked really hard to get to a couple of contests.

Nah wasn't at the game, but I just didn't see much of him.

Maybe I was just looking in the wrong places.

Schofield did a few good things, I thought.

Fair enough. :thumbsu:

Yeah I thought Schofield was really good, surprised not as many people have given him a mention.

he impacts much more than McKinley.

The stats don't bear that out at all.

Hunter and McKinley have both played 6 games this year.

McKinley has kicked 9.10, Hunter has kicked 9.9, (both equal second on the goal scoring list)

McKinley has taken 23 marks, Hunter 22 (each have taken 4 contested marks for the year). Both are averaging 11 disposals a game.

They are pretty much even stevens I reckon.

How is Ebert going in the WAFL?

If Kerr is out then we'll definitely be second tier in the mid dept. Macnamara and Butler were serviceable, but without Kerr we will be exposed. I'd like to get the ball rolling now and play Swift. Is he ready?

I just had a look at everyone's votes. Embley a bit stiff. I would have slotted him into 4 points. Hopefully he's coming into some form.

Ahh shit, Fletcher and Stenglein will come back in.

Settle down

No Chance, Fletcher will be back in.

Stenglein might and I say might come in, for a tagging role in the middle and allowing Selwood to be offensive midfielder.

I was at the game and from where I was sitting I thought whilst he was in passages, he didn't really do a lot. Sure, he worked his ass off, but the impact wasn't there.

Not that I'm all that surprised. It's what, his third game?

He'll be good, whether or not he plays next week I'm not sure.

Wilkes ahead of Scott Selwood.
If MacKenzie is still out next week then I'd expect Wilkes to play, and rightly so. He did a good job last year when everything's taken into account.

I agree, I don't understand all the Wilkes hate. We need a hard backman, particularly with B. Waters out for the year.

I was happy with how Kennedy went, and I thought Lynch looked good when he played in the midfield. Cox was looking a bit tired at times.

For anyone thinking that Hunter will be dropped consider this. You need 150 games for life membership at the West Coast Eagles. He has currently played 149. He will be playing one more game thats for sure.

I don't understand the Hunter hate either... Sure he's fading, but we can't just play a WAFL grade team, we need some experience. I'd rather see us win 7-9 games than 4-5.

Out- Our Forwards Coach
In- Any current opposition forward coach who can think latterly and competently enough to stop practically every central forward entry being run to and outnumbered by the opposition defense.

Geeze even Melbourne with their inexperinced defense get multiple numbers to any central contest everytime giving the forwards stuff all one on one opportunities unless we go to the flanks.
On top of that the runners can't run through a central forward corridor without being outnumbered and caught.

Pick any decent side you like and see how many times a Brown, Bradshaw, Mooney, Franklin, Roughhead, Fevola Loyd etc get a resonably central one on one contest or better during a game. Now watch the same sides and see how many times runners manage to find resonably central space inside 50 to run into and kick on goal. Hell even Freo is managing it. Now think how often the Eagles manage it.

We still haven't learned to create central space through intelligent forward positioning and play. Our forwards don't know when to run to correct positions or how to create space for each other and block for each other. People keep going on about delivery but our forward structure has been piss week for years and still is.

Blocking, fake leads, working back, crossing, timing, switching and working for each other in the forward line is still non-existant and seemingly remains a foreign language for West Coast.

My kingdom for a decent forwards coach.
