Blair was a star for the dogs on Friday. Daicos would just have to not touch the ball or influence the contest in any way and he'd be an upgrade.

Hard to argue with that based on his clangers and assuming they won't ever get any better and assuming no other players on the list are a better option than daicos.

Here is where they are when Adams kicks the ball inside 50 which results in a turnover.

Dogs bring the ball up the wing and you see Crameri with neither Adams or Pendlebury within sight.

Why are their no red circles on the other three Pies players?

Is Pendles bending over there? Why?

Why doesn't he highlight the crap Collingwood kick into the forward line?

That's right.........its Bucks fault!!!!

10 points for effort David King.

Are you being deliberately ignorant?

Ignorant of what exactly a few red circles on "one" highlights real???

Or that Pendles is lazy?

Once again thanks again for your effort.

Proves nothing to me anyway.

Should be able to beat Richmond relatively comfortable without Elliot. So an extra week is hardly a big deal in terms of win loss. Concerning how long it's taken however.

Crameri ends up kicking the goal with only Ramsay bothering to chase.

Would you look at that the last defender is Ramma. It'd be nice if Maynard and Smith ran as hard defensively or the coaching group instructed them too! #weaklinks

What was Pendles doing the play before??

Post the vision if you can please to prove how lazy our midfield and in particular Pendles really is.

Not calling him lazy I am more saying that you can't always be running 100% and you can't cover everyone when the zone is so high.

To pot goldsack for the 1 indiscretion is no different then potting Pendles for the 1 indiscretion.

Sack was swimming against the tide all night due to our structures ditto for the rest of our defenders.

He's bending so Adams doesn't kick the ball into him.

I do agree that King seems to have a hard on for Buckley but not all his points are off base.

There was multiple reels across many other players but if any one player stood out for "lax" chasing it was actually Fasolo.

Very hard to stop someone leading back to goal in space at the best of times, let alone 2/3/4 players doing it.
It is critical that our defenders all be Usain Bolt for them to have any chance and we are known for being a "pacy" team in fact teams with a lot of leg speed have oft troubled us. The only counter is move the Zone back so we aren't employing an offside trap where there is no offside rule.

Richmond now play a very attacking an open game, will be interesting to see how they cope with our pressure game.

Daicos, Kirby and Shaz are nowhere near ready, sounds like Billy is a couple away.

Broomy and Aish should come in for Cox and Blair.
White to give Grundy a chop out in the ruck, Grundy can rest up forward.

Then who comes in for Varcoe?

Pendles wasnt in the circle for the centre bounce after the goal so id imagine he was at the end of his midfield rotation.

The killer for that goal was that Goldsack wasnt able to spoil or contest the Stringer mark at 48 metres on the boundary. Or the Murphy mark 48 in front which setup the next goal. He had a dirty few minutes.

Richmond = 4 Points
Collingwood = 0 Points

That is the only stat that counts at the end of the day.

What full vision? Crameri is standing within 5m of both Adams and Pendlebury when the Dogs have the ball on the wing. Crameri sprints toward the Dogs 50 while Adams and Pendlebury jog. You can clearly see Goldsack is left in a 3v1 and Crameri ends up kicking the goal. It was great footage and shows how lazy the midfield are when asked to chase.

If the midfield is going to be that lazy, then the forward line have to put on a lot more pressure up the ground. I'd reason that is why guys like Mayne and Blair played on Friday night. Or efficiency going inside 50 needs to improve to avoid getting hurt on transition.

A "lazy" midfield does not smash WB in every stat.
King picks one incident to prove a point is just bullshit.
Why not wack WB for such poor stats - and point out the obvious ie. they got out of jail on Friday.
That's the real story not isolating errors from an otherwise dominant performance by us.

Richmond = 4 Points
Collingwood = 0 Points

Well it's not like the team with more points automatically gets the win :p

What I reckon we'll see this weekend:
  • Collingwood to try improve their conversion (kick straight / from better spots) and to try force Richmond into over-possessing the ball (extra player in defence)
  • Richmond to try improve their discipline (lower free kick count) and to try limit Collingwood's control of the ball (maintain forward pressure)

I didn't say they did Mike. :p

All the stats in the world mean shit or Kingism's as I like to call them nowadays. ;)

Listening to Bucks in his interview today he said (or words to the effect) part of the review showed that our defenders were getting up to high that they probably got a sniff (at being able to have a shot on goal) and basically got out of position due to it.

Something they will work on "they" need to be better at and will be, can't be caught getting to high.

Said the crumbing and "hunt" in the f50 could be better. Talls need to take more marks.

Also

Kirbs is a long way off some really positive signs but miles off yet. He is young and has had few hick ups of what AFL asks of you and is still learning but positives signs on weekend.
Ditto Mitch McCarthy who kicked 3, said both players only completed about 40% of preseason and need more work.

So all our Mids are Lazy then?
Not calling him lazy I am more saying that you can't always be running 100% and you can't cover everyone when the zone is so high.

The irony is whilst we are critical of the high zone in that situation it caused a Bulldogs turnover from a rushed Bontempelli kick out of the backline. Taylor Adams directed the kick to Cox who for the second time in a minute was unable to mark the ball. Instead of our crumbers taking their second opportunity Suckling twice read the ball from Mason Cox's hands without it hitting the ground. Second time he didnt fumble it and punished us. So if Matt Suckling can figure out we are going to kick it to the tallest bloke out there why can't our crumbers? If our crumbers can't figure it out why can't our "defensive forwards" figure out to stand next to the guy who keeps getting the ball and is the most dangerous bulldogs kick?
