hunt would be the last person you would want to kick that, but he got it
GO SUNS!!!!

To be honest he would be in my top 5. I watch him at training, before games and even in matches. He NEVER misses set shots!

In: Swallow, J.Hall, A.Hall, L.Russell
Out: Wilkinson, Patrick, Smith, Horsley

what it should be:

In: Iles, Swallow, A.Hall, Russell (if fit)
out: Wilkinson (inj), Weller, Patrick, Hunt o_O

Iles needs to come in but i really dont think he will. he would be in our top 5 players easily yet for some reason we dont give games on performance.
frustration to say the least. i hope im wrong.

with Hunt, i know ill cope critisism but he plays midfield for 75% of each game and gets approx 8-10 touches a game and thats it. yeah we all like to see his big hits and its exciting to see how far he has come but he would not get a game on merit at any other club and certainly shouldnt here.

thank goodness you're not on the selection committee...this week at least!

Great win by the boys! How inspiring, and it's exactly what has been said from the club all year, in that our best is good enough to beat anybody, we just need to sustain it for longer period than the opposition!

Couple things noted from the stats, and some observations.

Weller and Dixon, 2 players who played 100% game time! WOW.
Prestia, Caddy, Swallow with quite low game time? 71%, 69%, 58% respectively. I get Dave's low game time, but I've noticed this of recent times with the gametime for these young onballers. I guess it's just about managing their time, workload, so they dont get burned out? Either way you would probably argue, good player management? Caddy improved again on his defensive game as he no doubt set out to do after last week, layed 5 or 6 tackles I reckon.
Bennell with 85% game time, works hard, and good endurance it would seem? Would love if the GPS statisitcs were able to be shared just for a bigger insight into what these fellas do out there.

Prestia and Matera seemed off though, poor disposal I thought? Yes I saw the goal little fish did, and his game winning pass off, which I think was more hit and hope centering ball. But across the game, I wasn't happy with the 2 performances, and I thought they were a bit average to be honest. Matera needs to take a hit too. I cringe a little when he gets the ball, if he isn't open with 5-10m space panics and worries about self preservation.

Swallow looked composed and popping up sweeping in the backlines. Love big Dick in the backline, sorry Rory, your out. Dixon, Warnock, Bock for our backline next year pending on matchups. Bock needs to be CHB next year.

One of Brown's better games I though, worked hard, unfortunate about the dropped mark towards the end, and unfortunate for my coffee table as well.

Brennan didn't perform under pressure and was woeful :( I hope he turns it around and pulls a ripper out the bag this week against his old mob.

I wish Smith had some mongrel in him, looks slow and docile at times. Lacks urgency, or perhaps AFL standard fitness, maybe its desire for the contest, not sure. I think we all agree he hasn't quite stepped forward in his development as we had hoped though, and probably stagnated.

Ablett and Bennell were great as usual and are pretty much our 2 influential players. If both of these guys are going we generally have a great shot at competing on the scoreboard.

AND THE BIGGEST STAT OF THEM ALL. We won marks inside 50!! 15 marks inside 50 which is a great, and that's without Sam Day taking any I dont think, or maybe 1?

well i would like to think that most of the side could slot a goal from that distance.
credit where due, he was cool under pressure and sealed the win.:)
issue still remains 10 touches from a midfielder and perhaps some selection decisions were different we may no have needed a kick after the siren to win.
Patrick terrible again, Weller, a backman who has no defensive side and trys to do too much when running out.

great win just the same, it would be great to see us field our "best possible football team" regardless of age, race, background, former sport, or playing for spots. i just want to see the best 22 possible each week and we never see that at the suns its too much about other issues i believe.

Hunt is in our best 22

Yes, Sam marked a Josh Hall pass who should get some recognition as well for a great debut. What a step he's got for such a big guy.

Yes of course jumpin josh hall great debut, and I think I said in another post. Probably should not play this week, and be swapped for Lynch. Fitness not quite there and potentially could be a liability if he required to play more than 50% gametime.

Yeah agree. Hunt's set shots are usually very accurate. He's practiced so much to get it right, and it shows.

No-one I would rather have the shot, really. Save maybe Matera. Felt very confident he would kick it.

we know hunt is a big preasure performer. he has played NRL grand finals, state of origin matches, and played for australia. all of these games at fullback under high kicks. in big matchs they take no pity on the fullback. as soon as he hits the ground from his leap, he gets SMASHED. hunt was an unflinching fullback under preasure. i suppose that one good thing that he can draw from his NRL career..

when hunt lined up that ball, i knew he wouldnt let the preasure get to him. i just hoped that he was an accurate kicker from set shots. i havent seen him have many. actually i can only remember one....on saturday!!!!! woohoo!!! you bloody beauty!! may calf muscles are still sore from jumping in the loungeroom!

Saw him at the Suns shop when he was injured with the facial facture and made a big commotion yelling it out with my brother, had a chat with and a laugh :D

Big Dick stands tall (my favourite when he takes a grab) hehe

I'll admit to not knowing much about karma's league career...but was he the kicker for the Broncos?
It's usually the fullbacks job.
His kicking style seems to carry a fair bit of League DNA..much like you see the Irish boys have a slightly different style
