Changes for the "Edwards" game

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Outs: Bock, Schmidt, Sloane

Ins: Stiffy, Edwards, Symes

Seeing that Bock is injured, Stevens stays in as a defender. Please lets not see him butcher anymore goals this year. Symes in for his first game

Stiffy in for Schmidt, had a good run needs a rest in the SANFL

Edwards in for the Sloane Ranger who probably shouldn't have been selected against the saints. Who comes back in after this round for Edwards will be interesting....

Nearly at a 4 quarter effort. Hate the excuse given for 4th quarter fadeout. Lack of midfielders should have been the excuse or Scott Thompson unable to remove the digit. Can't see us beating the Shockers, hope its less than 4 goals. Will be there to see off a champ of the club.

In: Johncock, McKernan, Edwards
Out: Armstrong, Schmidt, Bock

Agreed, Stevens lucky due to Bock Injury. Davis needs to watch himself too. It was the missing of targets by Schmidt and Davis in defence that killed us!

Our best team includes Otten, Hentschel, Knights, Vince and Bock.

Below is my best 22 if all players were available this week:-

FB johncock rutten otten
HB goodwin bock doughty
C mackay vince reilly
HF hentschel walker mcleod
FF porplyzia tippett knights
F maric dangerfield thompson
INT griffen van berlo douglas petrenko

My team for this week is:-

FB johncock rutten davis
HB goodwin stevens doughty
C mackay van berlo reilly
HF mckernan walker mcleod
FF porplyzia tippett douglas
F maric dangerfield thompson
INT griffen edwards petrenko sloane

Thoughts?

Sellar and Gunston pushing and well in this weeks mix.

Sorry to intrude, but any word on the state of the surface at AAMI?

It looked hellish for Richmond beating the other "team".

Groin strain as aresult of kicking the ball forward instead od sideways and the groin unable to gope with the shock and subsequently ,,,,, twang ! Beware Davis, Rutten, Armstrong it is contagious !

Agree with Drummond that the decision to pick Sloane was premature and has to get some real possesions in SANFL even though I hate this 1 week in 1 week out selection.
The disagree with Drum though as thought Cook had a good run to prove himself and hasnt really . Hope dont put Sellar back in until he plays more than a average game for Tigers. Actually cant see anybody apart from Symes and Edwards reall deserving to get into team.

I would cry if I saw Stevo go to Pav.

Has to be Truck and we live with the pace issue.

IF Stevo goes to him we have to deal with the pace issue and deal with him being tossed around by Pav.

Truck could take Pav in the F50 (as long as he gets some Otten style assistance at times), but when Pav pushed out of the F50, which he will do constantly, then who takes him?

Do we bring Sellar in specifically to play on Pav? Or even SMcK?

Bocky is obviously the perfect match up all over, but I doubt he'll play.

I can't see much point in dropping Sloane now. Kid had a bad game, but let's face it, he wasn't alone. We need to get games into him now.

Symes had another good game in the SANFL so it looks like he's ready to come back. I want Stevens dropped so bad, but can't see it happening this week because of Bocky.

So my changes would be:

IN: Edwards, Johncock, Symes
OUT: Petrenko, Schmidt, Bock

Keep Sloane and drop Schmidt? Farcical :)

'We need to get games into him now.'

Schmidt already has been getting games.

Besides, I see Sloane as a potential 250 game player. At this stage i only see Schmidt as a potential list clogger.

Having sat through the game again last night I have changed my mind about Stevens-he was absolutely shite and should be dropped, either McKernan or Sellar to come in.

Ins: Edwards, Symes, Johncock, McKernan or Sellar

Outs: Bock, Schmidt, Sloane, Stevens.

While on the game...while Richie Douglas has shown great improvement he missed the target on at least half a dozen kicks...he wasn't alone, but he has work still to do.

No real need to bring in a tall this week to replace Bock. We can go with Rutten, Stevens and Davis as the three tall KPD's.

Ins - Edwards, Symes and Johncock.

Bock is out, so we need two smalls to exit.

This list would have to be, in no specific order, from Petrenko, Armstrong, Schmidt and Sloane.

For mine, first person is Schmidt, making way for another small defender in Johncock.

Armstrong has put up some good numbers recently so I'd keep him in and Petrenko narrowly avoids the cut. For me, Sloane makes way and heads back to the *****.

Debated dropping Porplyzia for Gunston. Porps has been struggling recently and I was really impressed with watching Gunston for CDFC. Perhaps Porps gets another week or two but he could find himself at Westies sooner rather than later.

Outs - Bock, Schmidt and Sloane.

There are a few people calling for Sloane to get dropped here but if it is true that Sloane will inherit the number 9 guernsey, I can't see them dropping him for Edwards as that would look equally stupid to what has came before.

Hence why I think it might be Schmidt & Armstrong/Petrenko

...
May not be Sloane, but I don't think this will be an issue - in fact when he came in underdone last week I thought it might be to ease him into Edward's place:
Wk 10: IN - Sloane _________ OUT - Tyson
Wk 11: IN - Tyson __________ OUT - Sloane
Wk 12: IN - Sloane _________ OUT - Tyson
Rest Week

Then: Sloane carves up the rest of the season like a reborn Zooma! :)
