Richmond have had the most frees paid against this year - for good reason but the umps should've paid far more. Watch them live and you see many of their small/mid sized players constantly block taller opponents around marking contests and all players off the ball especially as they spread. Will be interesting to see how we counter this - expecting a physical game.
Funny you mention that , the free kick deficit trend (every bloody week) is too strong to ignore , I was only just thinking it must be symptomatic of the way we play

No chance. It's such an excellent story (think Sammy Wright last week but throw in the fact that it's a debut) and there's no way we are throwing away that potential media coverage. If it hasn't been announced, then it's not happening.

Nah I reckon on this they want to just let him get his first game done

Methinks the players listed on the VFL interchange give a hint as to who will line up in the seniors. Looks like nn is on the money.

The North Melbourne squad hit the track on a brisk Thursday afternoon in preparation for Sunday’s clash with table-topping Richmond.

Spirits were high and voices were loud in session full of intensity, with the team no doubt still buzzing after Saturday night’s victory at the SCG.

In typical Melbourne fashion, the session finished in completely different conditions to those it started in, with the autumn sun threatening to show its face, before making way for afternoon showers.

The coaching staff had the luxury of being rugged up from the start, but the players soon warmed up after being put through their paces.

Robbie Tarrant has his hands full.

The boys warmed up with some light running and kicking drills, and then launched into some intense tackling drills, under the guidance of tackling coach Gavin Brown.

Last week's hero Mason Wood looked sharp.

Emerging ruckmen Tristan Xerri and Braydon Preuss go at it.

Young-guns Luke Davies-Uniacke and Cameron Zurhaar go head to head.

Almost on cue with the coaches call to enter a match-simulation drill, the rain appeared, and the changing conditions took a toll on skills early on.

Quick question, do our posters swarm opposition preview threads like this? I’ve started to read a few preview threads on other boards in the past and can never get past the first page.

Some boards are better than others.

To be fair the Retchmond board was alright.

Have given it a wide berth this year though. They seemed to like self fellating at the best of times. Undoubtedly digging on themselves so hard this year they're at risk of turning inside out.
