I'd keep Pruess and Sympkin in the team for next week.
Didn't think Preuss was that bad in his first game and Sympkin will get better.

But Thomson, Hansen are a liability must go out.

Ziebell to spend much more time forward.
Cunnington, Swallow, Dumont, Higgins, Atley and Mountford rotating through the centre, with Thomas, Hrovat and maybe McDonald having bursts as well. Swallow and Ziebell to release it by hand to Cunnington/Higgins/Dumont who can all use it ok either by foot or hand. They then deliver to Atley/Hrovat/Gibbo who can spot up Waite, who gets it deep to Brown with Turner, Thomas and Simpkin lurking. Lower your ****en eyes boys and our forward line can be dangerous.

Do something, anything about the defensive set-up - Tarrant and Durdin the keys, Wright intercepting, MacMillan dropping back to help out. McDonald to rebound. Liked Goldy resting forward but we are just too top heavy with him, Preuss, Waite and Brown. Consistent mistake of Scott's to go too tall.

Don't rate Geelong at all. Clamp down on Danger and we can roll them as long as we pick up our skills a bit. Hopefully today's just some cobwebs blown out...

I wouldn't be dropping Simpkin based off today's performance.

He didn't get much of it, and didn't do anything special, but you can't expect to him to walk in, first game, and set the world on fire.. Keep him and blood him through the seniors, he'll end up better from it, and eventually show why everyone has a stiffy over him.

Out Swallow and Gibson - they simply handed the ball over far too much and it was those turnovers that absolutely killed us today. Thompson and Lachie would have looked so much better if they weren't dealing with the ball coming into the Eagles forward line on the rebound.

Im for sticking with the older guys a bit longer tbh, mainly so they and everyone knows exactly why when they're dropped and then delisted/ retired at season end. Most the kids i dont think are ready for a full season, so plenty of time for them later on.

I'd add Hansen and Thompson to that list.

The sooner we accept where we are as a team, the sooner we can start to move forward and get on with putting a team together that can challenge. My concern about this year was always that we would waste serious development time this year. We've wasted a week.

Two weeks ago Clarke, Durdin and EVW looked the most ready of all the kids. Why none of them were selected is beyond me. I know Ed got his arse handed to him by Greene, but he's coming off an AA, B&F season.

Wouldn't be against giving Hibberd a few games to get up to speed. He showed a bit in the JLT especially against the Hawks.

Think he is more suited to the wing than half back however
