Nicks actually played youth unlike Pyle and also dropped senior players. It’s not good enough but better than what it was

You missed my second to last paragraph, he had no choice.

He has selected the oldest team available every week. Thats staggering in a rebuild.

further to my post above. The youngest player we have on 50+ games is Lachie Murphy, who is a full year older than Zac Bailey. Our next youngest player over 50+ games is Wayne Milera who is nearly 24. The lions next youngest player on 50+ games is cam Rayner who is the same age as Bailey (ie 21 years old).

how the **** is it possible that a team with a list remarkably better than Adelaide is still able to provide 50+ games to multiple 21 year olds yet our shit show cannot?

Good game by Zac Bailey for the Lions tonight. A 21/22 year old that the lions have pumped 50 games into. Now they’re reaping the rewards. If he played for Adelaide, would he have played 50 games yet?
Apples and oranges. It's been easy for Brisbane to throw a bunch of games to their kids the last few seasons because they haven't been pushing for finals like we have.

D Mac's not playing wing though, he's playing HBF.

FWIW, Rahilly was on 5AA before and they asked him about Mackay vs Hamill, he said Hamill has been carrying an ankle issue and keeps re-injuring it. Could be (likely is) spin, but may provide some insight. Also waffled on about Mackay's leadership and run though, so probably been told what to say

Had been holding on getting fired up about the selection to see if this was the case - is the only explanation that makes sense to me. May or may not be spin & will be interested to see what Hamill does this weekend. If its a straight-up omission I'll happily join the hysterical masses.

Look at out list in a couple of years and other sides may be saying gee the crows have a good group of youngsters that have played 50+ games. I suppose the phrase better late than never is a good one to apply here

We have 12 guys in the team with under 50 games

Shoey, Thilthorpe and Berry are the only ones I can see getting 50 before 21

Schoenberg will get there after he turns 22. Thilthorpe and Berry are certainly the only standout choices here. Thilthorpe especially.

If players on our list played every game from here out, these players are the only chances to hit 50 before 21

Riley Thilthorpe - 54 games
James Borlase - 51 games
Brayden Cook - 51 games
Tariek Newchurch - 51 games

Sam Berry won't make it. He'll only play up to 43 games before 21

The main problem with trying to hit 50 before 21 is that most players only have their 19th and 20th years to do so (22 games each) plus however many games they can play as an 18-year-old. So basically they need to play at least 6 games before they turn 19 and every single other game beyond 19

Some players are already 19 before the start of their first season (like Berry and Schoenberg) which makes it impossible for them.

Borlase, Cook and Newchurch all need to make the team in the next 2 weeks and stay in the side for 50 consecutive games. So that won't happen.

Thilthorpe is the only chance, and even then it's tight
