Yeah, O'Driscoll can keep playing... in the WAFL. Very out of form right now, guy needs to head down there and actually dominate a WAFL game. Don't think he's ever done it before.

There is a variety of reasons Noddy has been subpar this season. He had an interrupted preseason and has spent the majority of each game in defence. We need a defensive winger to unlock him in the forward half.

Henry in the wet for Peel was excellent last week. Tonight he didn’t get involved enough nor run to space that he needed to. He did get to the backline to help out.

I agree that NOD needs a run at Peel.

Sturt needs to be persisted with at years end. There has been quite significant improvement from 2022.

Henry though (and I have been one of his biggest supporters) just won’t make it in our team for mine. He should be traded for around 3rd round pick.

3rd round pick is overs for Henry. Not quick, kicking lacks penetration, deer in headlights, fumbly I could go on. Dont see him making it unfortunately.

Actually like this. Worner is fit, runs all day and would relish Henry’s spot.

The interesting issue is Fyfe. He was made to play Jackson’s role tonight and just couldn’t do anything. Perhaps he was the one taking over with Treacy in the ruck.

If Reidy does come in, probably won’t, where does Fyfe go? He’s still a little out of touch

Game was probably lost on selection table. Going small in the wet is common sense but Sturt and Henry are no wet weather players. While Amiss and Treacy as talls did well we missed Darcy structurewise so Erasmus (he looks like someone to excel in wet games) and Reidy would have been better ins.

So:

Out: Sturt, Aish, Henry
In: Darcy or Reidy, JOM, Erasmus

Somehow like the idea of keeping Walters as sub even when it feels a bit like a waste. More an impact player then Erasmus. Unless there is still doubt about Ras fitness for full games.

PS I'd persist with Freddy he dangerous and can have impact even when he has down games at times. And I like the idea of getting game into NOD, too.

Issue with Henry and Sturt is they're awkward fits and came in playing roles that imo aren't suited to them at AFL level. Sturt came in for Darcy and was supposed to be a taller presence up fwd, but can't win a contest. His goal (off an admittedly very good set shot) came because no defender was within 30m of him. Henry might be able to play as a deeper winger/occasionally on-ball at WAFL level, but at AFL level his lack of physicality gets exposed in those areas; he's closer to a fwd-wing than a true wing to me. Either of them getting looks in their preferred roles is a tough sell when Walters, Schultz, Switta, Freddy and even Banfield are all more influential as smaller/medium fwds (though a lot of the players on that list had their colours lowered vs Richmond).

The idea that people are comparing Freddy and Sturt is insane. Even in a bad game, Freddy generated 2 shots for himself. I think people underestimate how much his pace warps and worries defences (but also over the season, the raw numbers alone tell you Freddy's way more influential).
