What will happen,
Thomo out Greenwood in.

What I would also like to happen but doubt it will.
Seedsman in, Dmac out - he was nowhere in the 1st half. If Melbourne go in hard he'll be a liability.
CC Managed, he looks burnt out, would like to bring in Wigg simply because I think he's deserves it.

Play Cameron. Indigenous boys love the heat. He's from up north remember. Might be just what he needs.

I agree with calls to rest Jacobs. Gawn will just smash him anyway.

Seedsman must come in after a 29 disposal, 8 mark, best on performance. Start getting him settled in the line up before finals. Perfect timing.

I don't agree with that either, with the finals bye it will mean rested players won't have played for 2weeks....not good. They'll get their break with all other finalists after Rnd 23

worked fine for the Bulldogs last year

I'm almost shocked Cameron's is that high.

When stats like this are looked at it really doesnt give the players anywhere to hide, CC anf Betts are the worst in the team for disposal but afforded the least critisicm

But it also proves stats dont always tell the story, but always brought up when you want to prove someone wrong!

Generally its a thing, yes. Gilbert McAdam swears it's a thing and I have no reason not to believe him
Have never heard that. Ta.

When you consider most of Charlie's are in the clear too it's pretty woeful.

How is his Disposal bad when over half the team is worse

Mackay 73%

B Crouch 68%
M Crouch 71%
JJ 68%
Douglas 66%
Sloane 68%
Tex 66%
Gov 70%
Hampton 66%
Betts 62%
Atkins 72%
CC 61%
Jacobs 71%
Lynch 70%

You've got to factor in how he gets his possessions. He's an outside runner - most of his disposals are with him on the run, where most of the contested stuff has already happened. You would expect any player receiving and disposing the ball in that context to be much better.

That Matt and Brad Crouch have a comparable disposal efficiency, despite the very different roles they play, is an indictment on Dmac.

He also seems to have an innate talent for not just missing a team mate, but for finding an opposition player. Both outcomes are counted as 'inefficient' disposal, but one is much more damaging than the other.

This is true, but it makes Cameron look even worse

The three game block (Bulldogs, Demons, Cats) provide a challenge for selectors.

We had a 6 day break after Carlton, then 8 days before playing in Darwin and then another 6 day break. If we want to finish top 2, we must win the Geelong match so the aim must be to have the best possible team for this match. Any players carrying injuries or feeling a bit flat must not be selected.

I suspect that the plan for THE MIGHTY THOR was to give him a two week break before the Geelong match. When he was (finally) selected, the expectation would have been that he would play a combination of mid/forward but his form demands we play him in the midfield for as many minutes as possible. A two week break followed by 4 matches and possibly another 2 weeks off before the finals (Eagles plus the week off). It also provided an opportunity to see if a fit Thommo could slot in if we needed another inside mid. Fair to say that the answer is no. I would not be surprised if TMT has another week off and we go to Plan B (Gallucci, Poholke, Wigg or move one of the current 22 into the midfield).

Players who should be
Out.
Thommo, was that the worst performance by an inside mid in the history of the Crows? Five kicks, 5 handballs, 1 tackle and 5 frees against in 72% TOG, most of it in the midfield.

Players who might be Out.
Luke Brown; if he has the slightest niggle then give him a week off.
Charlie Cameron; Was he fully fit? Does he need a rest? Last time he had a poor game he played a beauty the next week. Line ball decision.
Wayne Milera; Has played predominantly at half forward the last 2 weeks and has struggle to have an impact. If he doesn't need a rest, I would play him.
Bran Nue Mackae; Has been very consistent the last two weeks. He has done some good stuff and then does things to drive any thinking supporter crazy. I expect him to play (for as long as the eye can see).
Richie Douglas; If Thommo wasn't so bad we would all be talking about Dougie. After getting plenty of ball against Carlton (and burning it) he collects 14 disposals at 50% efficiency. The clock is ticking.
Andy Otten, Jake Kelly and Riley Knight; Proved many posters wrong.

Players who should be In;
THE MIGHTY THOR
provided it doesn't reduce his capacity to play a big game against Geelong.
THE SEED; it's time

Players who might be In.
Gallucci; can play inside or outside mid. The next best midfield option IMHO
Wigg; Had plenty of the ball against the Poort Pear Twos but lacks hurt factor. I guess he couldn't be worse than Thommo.
Poholke; A genuine inside mid. Not really ready yet but couldn't be worse than Thommo.
Doedee; Was besieged by the PPTs on Saturday but we must give him some games this year.
Lynch; Should not play until Geelong at the earliest. Possibly Collingwood or Showdown.
Cheney; Terrible time to get injured again.
Keath; Very unlikely unless we get more injuries but will surprise some poor judges if he gets a game (refer to TMT comments by certain posters ).
Menzel; Had his chances and blew them.
Beech; Refer to Menzel.
O'Brien; Refer to Cheney.

Im a bit worried with the short 6 day break going into Geelong after playing in the heat in Darwin and we cant afford to rest players this week.

This week id make 2 changes:

Milera and Thommo out
Seedsman & Greenwood in

They commented on the radio that at 1\2 time he was 5 poss @ 37%.
when the heat is on he struggles, he padded those stats once we had control and bullies dropped off the heat.

No player is immune from being in and out of the game did Mcrouch have 4 consistent qtrs

The stats show year to date Mackay is well and truly in our top 50% of players for efficiency

Stats can be plucked no problems at all but its far far better to look at the average to give you an indication

Sloane probably wasnt so bad fior the first half of the esason but his second half has caused him to have a 68% average so how bad was he really in the second half.

Keath needs a full pre season to be considered , he's a fair way off mark at sanfl level due to his lack of continuity

He will be a player if his body holds up but not right now

The rest of it makes sense , reckon TMT may tag Selwood ? Might be a reason he got a freshen up . I would expect him to play this week and take Thommos spot

What it shows is that when the team are flying he does play well, but when we are struggling he is the 1st to go missing. This is the frustrating thing with him, he can play but it's never when you really need him. It would also be nice if he'd stop hitting up opposition players when he has time to dispose, but he's not alone with this one.

Those that actually understand football don't need to look at the stat sheet to evaluate a player's contribution. It is what they do at key moments, chipping the ball across half back in the last few minutes boosts stats and efficiency but it is meaningless football.

Was I the only person that thought when JJ kicked it to BNM in the last quarter it would reduce the chance of a goal?

In the last two weeks, on quite a few occasions we have fed BNM the ball, he has run through the centre unimpeded and either bombed it long to a contest or hit the opposition on the tit. As I stated earlier, he gave us the usual mixed bag but he had absolutely no influence when the game was up for grabs.

Any different to sloane or tex??? this year

Watch replay of this week and last week when coming out of backline and fails to hit targets over 30 metres. Its at crucial stages and it has had unsettling influence on our ball movement. Its his major flaw !
