Garland looks likely to succumb to injury(and form hasn't been great), Macdonald is unlucky, but i feel Bailey will keep Rivers ahead of him, and Wona doesn't look fit. He needs some time on the track and out of KFC. Where has his pace and pressure gone? Back to Casey to find some form.

Aussie's 6 tackles not enough for you? Seriously I don't understand the constant mention of him being dropped by everyone? He's just come back in from over a year layoff and has played pretty well considering that fact, he's tackling extremely well and applying the pressure which is great.

What exactly has McKenzie done wrong? Averaged only 2 less disposals than Scully and Trengove, with double the number of tackles. Not a DT question by any means, I don't have him, but I rate the little bloodnut. He's in the top 10 for tackles per game in the whole comp as well

Could have just been a rest or a match up change, I'm not sure. Didn't have a shocker the week before in my opinion. Brad Miller said he, himself lost 3.8kg's in the Darwin game. I don't know how far from normal that is, but it seemed a fair bit to me.

He isn't fit Dez, you can see it just from looking at him. When fit he's a walk up start every week and he'll only need 2 or 3 weeks to get up to where he needs to be imo. But right now he shouldn't be in the team.

We may go taller up forward than expected, with Waite, O'hAilpin, Henderson and Kreuzer to choose from.

We're a bit hamstrung for tall defenders at the moment tho, so you guys could also hurt us by going tall.

Going to be a cracking match, and I'm a bit nervous to be honest.

He could go back and play VFL for the next few weeks but the fact is he will still look unfit when he comes back to AFL.

After being out for so long he was always going to take a month of playing at AFL level to get right no matter how much running he did at training and the amount of VFL games they played him.

your right, but he can do that running at casey i think.

Re: Changes v Blues.

In: Scully, trengove, bate
out: Rivers(should have happened a year ago), garland(knee), wonaeamirri(get him on the biggest loser immediately)
How does bruce warrant not getting dropped. Clanger king that guy.

As for Sylvia, the only player apart from Gysbert that I noticed.

Give Scully and Trengove an extra week's rest... please.

Waite will be back for the Blues and likely play forward, so that might affect how many big defenders you need.

I wouldn't completely rule it out Faz...

If Morton is dropped I'll be egging DB's house :D

Agree with those who say Aussie needs time at Casey.

I'd LUUUURRRRVVVVEEE to see our 3 main midfielders scully, trengove and gysberts against carlton... just to see what they can do. I don't think any of them have gotten the chance to kick arse, be the main option - see gysberts 3 h/b receives

Would love to see Bruce and MacDonald dropped for McKenzie and Strauss. I don't think it will happen. MacDonald may cop it but Bruce won't, he will have to go from poor to embarrassing like Rivers before that happens.

Hasn't done much wrong, but someone needs to make way for Scully, Trengove and Bate. One of Bennell, Jetta and Aussie needs to be dropped for team balance IMO, and Aussie has been the "least performed" of these three, unlucky no doubting it.

Out: Garland, Bartram, Rivers.

So were playing the team with three of the best small forwards in the game and you drop our best small DEFENDER. Care to explain why, apart from the fact of looking at the stats sheet sunday morning or do you actually watch the game and the match ups. There is more to playing good football than winning possesions.

I think Bartram has been good for a long while for us, he's had patches where is form is very solid. This being said, against Geelong I thought he was un-servicable and on more then a few occasions I saw him make some bad decisions with the ball. Yes, I watched the game and I know you might think i just looked at his stats and jumped to a conclusion, but at the moment I think he looks to have a lack of confidence. Byrnes owned him if you actually watched the game. The kid set up at least 3 or 4 goals.

Agree Deefolt...Carlton can't tag 3 midfielders of that calibre!...

Sure we can: Joseph, Armfield, Carrazzo.

However I'm sure we'd be quite happy let your guys go head to head with any of Judd, Gibbs, Murphy or Simpson. What an entertaining shoot-out that would be! This game has the potential to be one of the most exciting and free-flowing games of the year.

I'm a firm believer that Bate and Miller can't play in the same team and I'd take Bate every day of the week.

Waite and Bower seem likely to be ins for this week and hoping on Yarran, Houlihan and Armfield.

Could well be a fun game to watch if all the boys are on, this weekend.
Its going to be a fast one, it seems.
I doubt Carlton would make five changes to a winning side!
Probably two three at best!

Damn... you really think we should drop J-Mac v2?
I honestly think he is one of our better defenders who has just been unlucky. You might be right, as i can see where he has been replaceable...
but he is hard as at the contest and is a stronger body then what you'd think.
I thought we'd need him this week?

And I never noticed that Miller and Bate can't play on the same team... What seems to be the problem there? Both would often run into each others space as their roles are similar i guess...

B: Clint Bartram, Matthew Warnock, Colin Garland
HB: Cameron Bruce, James Frawley, Jack Grimes
C: Tom Scully, Brent Moloney, Aaron Davey
HF: Jamie Bennell, Brad Miller, Brad Green
F: Matthew Bate, Jack Watts, Neville Jetta
Foll: Mark Jamar,Jordan Gysberts , Colin Sylvia
I/C: Jack Trengove, Nathan Jones, James McDonald, Cale Morton
Emg: Austin Wonaemirri, Lynden Dunn, Joel MacDonald

Ins: Trengove, Scully, Bate
Outs: Wonaemirri, MacDonald, Rivers

Backline
With the blues possibly bringing back Waite, i think we need to keep Garland as a better option than Rivers and MacDonald. Hoping he can start hitting his straps very soon otherwise were in trouble. Warnock on O'Hailpin, Frawley on Waite and Garland on Houlihan if he comes in or Waite when Kreuzer goes down forward. Leaves Bruce, Bartram, Grimes and Morton to match up on Betts, Garlett and possibly Yarran if he comes back in.

Midfield
Jamar is obviously going to have to ruck 85-90 percent of the game. Miller is in the team as his back up (need to decent sized bodies against Kreuzer and Jacobs)but wouldnt be opposed to Dunn doing Miller's role instead. We have just got to back our speed in the midfield try and run Carlton off there legs, with the amount of midfielders we are playing.

Forward
Bate back in is a massive help, close to out most important player. Miller need a darwin type game or he should be dropped, would be playing him deeper this week with bate playing the lead up role. Hopefully Watts can find some form at the G and kick some goals. Someone in the forward line has to make Gibbs accountable, possibly Benell playing a shutdown role on him and hopefully keeping his defensive pressure up.
