Changes v Geelong Rd 2

It hasn't been the case that Harvey drops debut players after a good game, so I'm sceptical that Pitt will be dropped.

JVB for De Boer sounds fair.

Love to check who is now available from those who didn't play seniors yesterday.

If fighting fit, I agree that De Boer & SNOS should come under strong consideration, but who do they replace ?.

Looking at those whose spots may be under threat :-

Palmer - if fit, he deserves another run. Get his confidence up.

Pitt - did ok, keep playing him to get his confidence up. May be pushed aside for a stronger body this week ?,

MJ - Dessie here we go again !!!!.

How about, De Boer & SNOS in for Pitt & MJ ?.

If anything it could be Roberton dropped to get a full game into him at WAFL level, instead of probably sitting him on the pine for half a game again.

I think robbo will play full game next week & Johnson may be the sub

I think Roberton will come in - he looked composed when he went into defence....Johnson will go the sub after a shocker 1st game.....he was probably in top 3 best performed players from pre-season so remains best 22 in my eyes.

Silvagni misses out - I think Robbo can cover the 3rd tall at a pinch

de Boer just comes in - hard body - will be needed v Cats

Anthony comes in - did well enough in Wafl & it was clear we needed a marking player inside 50 beside Mayne - who is not a Full Forward...Bradley struggled there

Pitt - unlucky...but de Boer required

IN: de Boer, Anthony
OUT: Van Berlo, Pitt

SUB: Johnson

Bradley is a small chance to go out of side with Griffin playing well for Sharks...but they'll likely give Kep another go

de Boer, SNOS and JA the likely promotions for mine.

Pitt had a nice debut, but he got in due to injuries, and if a player (de Boer) is ready to return then he makes way. Love that we have recruited Pitt.

One of MJ, SNOS and JA to play, with MJ starting at the bottom of that list. MJ needs a great week at training because he deserves to be looked at for relegation. The sub role may save him, but I like Roberton in there.

Deboer needed when he is right - defensive pressure - Not sure who to drop maybe roberton to give him a full game in the WAFL

Johnson maybe dropped to teach him to stop being lazy - replace with Anthony

I reckon like last year players will be rotated a bit to negate the travel.

I'd be surprised if we didn't make 2-3 changes.

Out: Johnson, van Berlo, ??? (Bradley?)

In: Anthony, de Boer, Silvagni

Johnson needs a kick up the arse, and have a message sent that he is not an automatic inclusion. Make him work for it. Anthony can be ineffective but we really need an accurate kick inside 50, de Boer a no brainer

Don't understand the hate that Van Berlo gets around here. I thought he played his role very well last night.

Don't worry you're right - he did play his role well. Thankfully it's only the numpties around here that hate him, the coaches appreciate him.

Crowley is the one that should make way for De Boer not JVB.

you dont understand the JVB dislike, i dont understand the crowley dislike... who is a much better player than what vanberlo will ever be

Crowley and McPhee are our stoppers. They provide strength and kick goals. Automatic selections every week.

Silvagni in for mine. Pitt has had a taste but is still undersized.

I reckon as Pitt didn't look lost and played a role they will keep him in. Harv's also praised him in presa which is a +ve for him!
Bottom line they are trying to get games into their top picks to fast-track seeing who cuts the mustard. Pitt, as did Hilly and Mora, will play till it looks like he's fatiguing and no longer making a positive contribution.

We are playing Geelong so it will probably depend on who comes in for them - if they keep Guthrie and Menzel in then i reckon let Pitt run around with one of them all day!

I'd like to see VanBerlo, DeBoer, Crowley and McPhee all in! Again i reckon Roberton may be the one to give way for DeBoer and Johnson should give way for Snons or Anthony if Snos is not right!

We need competition for spots not just automatic inclusions as it's a long year and between injuries and travel we need to have at least 28 people trying to fit into 22 spots to ensure we can be competitive all year! We certainly can't carry people fitness wise so i wouldn't take in anyone who is underdone!

surely crowley would stay? he shut down black after black carved up mcphee in the first quarter.

Out: Bradley!!!, JVB

In: Anthony, DeBour

Johnson moved to sub and Roberton into the 21. Bradley was horrible went to ground every time he was near the ball had one good possession all game. Anthony will provide more as a leading forward.

surely your joking. where is the logic that crowley should go out before JVB? i don't see that happening at all.

Do you mind if I ask, what exactly van Berlo's role was? It seemed to me that he was playing in defense for only the first half, and then the rest was up forward and at one stage was on Staker.

Crowley shut down Black in the second half, while DeBoer is a much better defensive forward than van Berlo. If he was playing as a defender then I would keep van Berlo in the side, but otherwise he doesn't have a role in my opinion.

I dunno ............

He played both ends of the ground. He is a player if taken lightly is a potential winner.
Kevlar is a worry factor for everyone. No way he should be dropped.

De Bloek is a good fit against the cats. Pitt should wear it on the chin if he gets dropped.
MJ is the puritans whipping boy. Nothing he does will impress some, ever. He is an important part of how we set up.
the stats have him at 83% efficiency. Good enough for me and bobby magee. :D

Well they will need someone to play on teh small forwards as Byrnes always has a day out against us...

Pretty sure Byrnes didnt play on the weekend ?? Inj ?

Dont think the team will change to much, maybe De Pig for JVB or Pitt.
Jono didnt have a good game but will be retained I reckon
