Liberatore was averaging ~15 disposals a game in the 4 weeks before he was dropped and only had 8 in the game against us. His tackle numbers had dropped off as well

Priddis hasn't been at his best but hasn't fallen away anything like that

Numbers, no. But that is because he's always at the coalface. The actual quality of disposal has been way down this year as he is routinely missing targets and handballing at feet.

The one number that is obviously down is clearances.

Stringer was the Bulldogs main forward target but was only kicking one goal a match in the month before he was dropped - Darling is still getting two goals a game as the secondary target

Also he was brought back for finals when Beveridge wanted him despite not playing very well in the reserves

remember between this weekend round 10 and Round 17 we only travel twice so that's 2 away games in 8 weeks.

This is the period where our season is cemented by winning all or most of these games. And If they can't beat the Suns away and Bulldogs away without a heap of travel then bring in a handful of new crew and blood them.

The meaning of 'mediocre' should be taken as what it is - average. I'm not saying he's not good enough to get a game, but he is very lucky to be getting the consistent run he is now.

Not necessarily in order:

Shuey
Naitanui
Kennedy
Yeo
Gaff
Priddis
Mitchell
Hurn
Sheppard
Lycett

That was easy.

Then:

LeCras
Wellingham
Barrass
Schofield (Has been squeezed out of the side due to our depth - plays his role every bit as competently as Darling)
Cripps (I'll grant you this is an iffy one, really needs to pull the finger out)

On current value to the team, you can probably throw a blanket over:

Darling
Hill
Sheed
Nelson
Butler

Ranking 15-20 players is always going to invite people to pick it apart but, I've humoured you.
You're comparing Cripps and Darling? Jeepers mate, dunno what you're on but it's not doing much for your brain. Apart from that your list is crap, only Naitanui, Kennedy, Shuey, Yeo (this year), Mitchell (previously) are clearly better. Same as Nelson - give us a break, I'm back to the blind, deaf and dumb query which has just been clearly proven for all to see.

Cripps and Darling are actually quite comparable statistically. Since 2013, Cripps has kicked 1.6 goals a game, averages more tackles than Darling but takes less marks. He's also not a pussy. Other than fanboyism I can't see a case for why that's a stupid call? Again, Cripps has faltered this year I acknowledge that.

I stand by the call the Nelson has the same current value to the side in terms of the competency of playing his role. If both were to retire now, obviously Darling would be remembered as the better player. Darling is also safer due to lack of KPF depth.

Out: Me going to the game
In: Some other poor schmuck

Simply can't be arsed. Got an invite to go to the work Box, with free food and booze. I am doing my hair!

Not really, have to see the in laws for the wife's birthday...
This post belongs in the soft supporters thread

Move this Darling talk/arguing to the Curious Case of Jack Darling lads if you don't mind?

Yep. My bad. I'm happy to let this one go anyway, we've both made our points and neither is going to convince the other. Moving on.

Clearly not married then?
Thirty years this December with no parole

Corporate box v birthday wouldn't even be a discussion

So Birthday it is then...
Like I said, you're in the wrong thread

NB: Having your wife forget your birthday for 3 or 4 days one year is a pretty good argument killer

Momentum building for Biggie to become a mod....Trumpy model? campaign in motion?
Not shit stirring, just a joke, I'm on the bandwagon.

Are you shitting me? **** me, top ten players at the club. I won't even bother trying to argue with that one.

Not to bring it back up, but....Darling has finished top 10 in the B&F every season bar his debut year and 2015 where he missed a bunch of games. On that evidence alone the coaches rate him in our best 10 players.

The team is very top heavy so it's not like being one of the 10 best players at West Coast makes you an awesome player or anything.

Ins: Partington, McKenzie, Jetta, Hutchings, Hill, Petrie, Nelson
Outs: Welligham, Barrass, Cripps, Redden, Mutimer, McInnes, Butler

The Cripps-Jetta swap might not happen.

I think it's ironic that Simpson blasts our leaders publicly for failing to stand up then drops the younger guys. Go figure.

Surprisingly, Simpson in his second year (2015) thought that Darling is one of our top 5 players - I remember him saying this in an interview when Darling was returning from injury.
I wouldn't have agreed with it, but pre foot injury Darling had a pretty good case for being a top 5 player for us. He would have been in the 5-8 range for me. Wouldn't be in the top 15 now.

Tough to drop guys like Priddis and to sack Hurn with their goody goody image in post 2007 West Coast. They probably wouldn't have dumped Emac as soon as they did last year if they didn't have the coming back from a knee excuse either.

What's the point?

Will probably be the first omitted but I wouldn't mind seeing Mutimer moved into Redden's midfield role (surely he has to be dropped after that, Sydney game credits must have run dry). This means Hill or another forward can come in.

Seems a good high risk/high reward move than just bringing Hutchings back in as a known quantity. Strong player with a long kick in his natural position, has a genuine dual position as a forward. Wouldn't be too hasty to drop him just yet.

Out: WHam, Barrass (time for a spell, work on some 1on1s), Redden, McInnes (shame but we need better support).
In: Nelson, McKenzie, Partington, Petrie.

Butler gets a reprieve due to our lack of small defenders. Need Cole to build form.
LeCras for Lamb wouldn't be surprised.
