doesnt really matter what we do we have no chance at a flag

just need to get rid of old, cooked and unskilled and bring in youth

the likes of Scooter, Henderson, Smith and Bews should not be in this team

get some kids in the team for experience

Joel Selwood looks absolutely cooked and Dangershank isn't that far away

Cynical everybody!!! Some of his best work.

I had Atkins in our best 5.

I do not like the way the club is running our senior players into the ground. Some of them look buggered. And our play looks overcoached. Players hesitant.

The over coaching is apt.

My team for Saturday night:

B: Bews Blicavs Stewart
HB: Clark Taylor Touhy
C: Narkle Menegola Duncan
HF: Dahlhaus Ratugolea Ablett
F: Dangerfield Hawkins Miers
Foll: Stanley Kelly J.Selwood
Int: Guthrie O'Connor Parsons Atkins

We can't have S Selwood & Menegola in the same team, they both play a similar role/style. I have gone with 4 mobile defenders/forwards & 2 key defenders/forwards. Guthrie & Atkins as midfield backup, O'Connor as defence backup (replace him with Henry if injured) & Parsons as forward backup.

Thoughts?

Henderson was 100x better than Kolo, but Board favourite Kolo remains unscathed and, unbelievably, widely defended.

He was horrible on the weekend, but only a few have publicly said so.

He may.....may....deserve a free pass for a totally crap performance based on a run of decent games earlier in the season...so lets see if he can pull his finger out
I have roasted Kolo on the past but he has been really good this year. I think he’s had a great year. I feel super confident when
He is one on one and he looks quicker than the glacier he has been in the past when the balls on the deck. Bit patchy since the concussion but he is miles ahead of Hendo

Henderson would have been in my votes if I could be bothered to do them. But I still think there's only room for two of Blicavs, Taylor and Henderson, and I'm far more inclined to back the guys that were getting the job done earlier in the year.

Good to know we can rely on him to come in and play a role in case of injury, but he's depth this year imo.
So what you think we should do with him next year slug?
He will be wanting more game time.
Taylor may want to play on next year and he more then capable in playing next year.
Henderson is younger
But we need a back up Key Defender for injurys if happens next year...

I’d like to know how Bews has gone past O’Connor let alone Kolo and Henry. Like the move of Clark back and a ball winner/mid on the wing. Like Stanley over Smith. Fingers crossed Parfitt is available.

The Constable/Abbott to Saints for Jack Steven to me seems a real possibility.
Wonder if both are INS this week.
Constable is said to be totally frustrated.
Reminds me of an impatient Prismall who finally got a few chances just pre finals.

If we bring Jack Steven in,let alone trade Constable out we have rocks in our heads.

You're giving too much credence to a think piece. Of course a player who has experienced AFL football and is appearing in the best in the 2s each week will be frustrated. You'd be disappointed if he wasn't. We'd be crazy to give up a 20 yo with lots of upside for a going on 30 yo with issues.

Out: Smith, Henry, scooter, Henderson, Rohan (inj)
In: Stanley, Narkle, O’Connor, taylor, Dahl

- can’t llsy both kolo + Henry. Both 3rd tall slow marking players. 1 is enough.
-scooter was defensive but too slow.
- danger, Kelly, Duncan to focus on 2 way running for this game
- assume parfitt still out
- taylor > hendo
- Clark down back to help rebound at pace
- Tuohy to a wing in a more long kicking attacking role
- Narkle key mid role to spark our mids with energy

Fb. Clark. Blicavs. Stewart
Hb. O’Connor. Taylor. Kolo
C. Duncan. Kelly. Touhy
Hf. Dahl. Esava. Ablett
Ff. miers. Hawkins. Atkins
Foll. Stanley. Danger. Narkle
Int. j. Selwood, menegola. Guthrie. Bews

2 way running
Pressure
Attacking brave movement

Should be written on the back of every player’s hand

You know the MC aren't this proactive.

I have the Constable not happy mail from one of his aunties. He is a Hailebury boy, same as King and a few others at Saints, family from down that way. She has been telling me he is not happy from half way through his first year last year, and apparently he made it clear to the club at the end of last year reviews. He payed really well early, dropped then ignored, so add that one up. He is not hanging around. I’m at a loss on this one, as really he delivered on clearances when in the team.

Why did he sign a 2 year extension mid last year if he wasn't happy at the club? Find this hard to believe.

are we in a position to stop him if he gets a nice lure?

Is it plausible that bringing in the likes of Scooter and Henderson and not playing the youngers that you're discussing is a plan?
I know that Scott tends to have a smugness in saying things like "We're not worried" but there could come a time when he's correct..
Keep some of the younger players fresher, get ready to bring them back in when the time is right. Unlock the better game style we had earlier in the year and be primed and ready to go.
Did we not do a little similar in 2011?

I hope you’re right , it’s bizarre reading that Scott said the side will perform when it matters.

For his sake I hope he’s right
