Cole has been far from diinterested this year ;) Has worked as hard or harder than anyone else on the list.
As for Lonergan handling the same role well i doubt they will select Sam to play half back/back pocket given he has played all his footy as a forward/midfielder. Cole has been pretty good the last two games, the difference this weekend was his disposal was very good rather than poor.
The spot that would suit Lonergan is the spot Monfries is currently not carrying out very well.

I haven't really been impressed by him this year, and even when he has got it a bit it's been everything Collingwood fans like to tease us about.. perhaps disinterested in an making impact would be closer, but quite interested in running around and not looking very good. Still, you're right, the disinterested crack is just a hangover from the last game I can recall that he played with the senior team, sometime pre-season - when it was ugly. Still given the length of time he's been around AFL football I don't think we need to be nice to him, he better bloody perform.

Re: Lonergan, it hasn't stopped them anytime before with other players. Besides I didn't say anything other than he could probably handle the role given that he can run a bit and play football. Forward/midfielder/half-back - the lines are pretty blurred these days. If you sent him out there and told him clearly what you wanted I think you'd get a performance out of him.

Who's to say Lonergan hasn't been told he'll get a game real soon if he keeps it up, we're a proffessional club, we wouldn't yet young players get dissinterested IMO.

Why not tell it too Cole? He's been doing less imo, even if his track work rate has improved. Lonergan's quite possibly got enough football smarts to handle a switch from a midfield/forward role at Bendigo to a small running defender role at senior level - it's not like it's a move that hasn't been seen any number of times with young kids coming through.

And actually the professionalism of how our club drafts, grooms young kids, selects the team and plays has come into a bit of question over the past few years. Hence the massive review last year, Sheeds being told to pay more attention, and the like.

Hennenman is playing for Silvan and is dominating along with Moorcroft, Haynes and bullens, seems like Sivan is where all the Essendon rejects go, i hear they are also close to signing barnesy as well!
a bit harsh with moorcroft. he retired due to injury mate. all because of that great speccie, he screwed up his hip.
