Out Bennell (just lacking a bit of presence, and his output is not quite adequate) in Blease for his debut.

Out MacDonald if injured, In Tapscott play as sub for first game back.


Great win today but lets move on for next week!

Easy, out Morton in Tapscott. I would not be dropping Bennell, he can really light it up for us, has got pace, runs the lines in defence and is basically our only quick small forward option. I know he looks lazy sometimes but brings a lot to the table.

I think with Tappy back in we will basically be at full strength, I see Bail, Morton, Jetta, Davey, Bate, Dunn and Warnock as depth players.

Can't see Bennell being dropped, thought he did everything he had to do today. And his ability to play small in the backhalf gets him the nod over Blease for mine.

Macdonald for Tapscott appears a perfect swap if he is fit and JMac is injured.

I'd go Strauss out and Tapscott in, not a knock on Strauss but I'd just prefer Tapscott.

I thought Bennell was ok today, he faded a little later on but provided good run and didn't seem to get beaten too often.

Don't get me wrong I thought Strauss was good as well but I think Tapscott can do Strauss' job plus add physicality and grunt.

Although I wasn't aware Casey had the bye this week, so perhaps I'd leave it another week.

Davey has been a gun, he had elite pace and is still one of the best kicks in the leage, no doubt. In my opinion, he is an outside player who can get tagged out of the game too easily. When we were playing him in the backline he was really not putting a lot of defensive pressure on, and if he is played in the forward line he can get shut down by a hard tag. I think maybe he has lost a little pace which makes it harder for him to break a tag and find some space which is crucial for him. I agree though that he would be much more effective when we are making the play, and perhaps he was carrying a knee injury for the early part of the season. If he can come back to his best, awesome, he will make us even better.
