McPharlin wanted to retire at the end of 2014. We convinced him to sign another year. To what end?

We also gave A Pearce plenty of match time last year. A Pearce pulled up sore just before finals last year.

Truth is we needed Luke for finals and if we didnt play him during the season we would have struggled to make top of the ladder and home finals.

Look I'm happy to make it if we're heavy on young talent doing it.

If we don't, we get a better pick and the young guys still have the experience

This, and as a few others have said I don't think we should be thinking "yay draft picks" just yet. Bottom 4 is still a shite year for fans, for player development and for convincing anyone come trade time that we're the place to be.

We've looked better each game if only in patches so even bringing in new players some wins are coming and if it's a choice between finishing 7 - 8th and getting pick 11/12 or finishing 10 - 11 and pick 8/9 I'll still take finishing the year with finals experience.

I'm happy to finish middle order if that's what it takes to set this team up going forward. The absolute given though is wherever we end up it has to be by finding out how many of our young players are ready to play AFL.

If you want to bottom out. Just check out the years Kilda, carlton, melbourne etc have spent down there. It will kill out belief, our staying power and our ability to attact stars.
I would be happy with playing 1 final and seeing who is and us not afl standard and cleaning out the list at the end of the year. With a healthy list turnover you can get a few diamonds with the late picks☺

Not with Bond as our saviour

Not sure if Mundy or Hughes will be fit to play this week, hoping they are but also don't want to rush in and risk them. Still hoping Tucker debuts. Hope we don't go in unchanged. But regardless I think over the next 3-6 weeks we should consider these ins:

Mundy, Hughes, Blakely, Tucker, Clarke, Collins, Grey

Then in 6-12 weeks time consider/add in:

Yarran, Apeness, Sandi, Bennell

That's up to 11 possible changes from our current B22. That's crazy! But also very exciting imo. It shouldn't just be Suban, Mayne, D.Pearce, and Barlow fighting for their spot in the B22 - half the team should be on notice atm.

All I want to see in this game is a clear attacking intent. Try to kick 20 goals and don't stop.

We clearly reverted to a defensive push against WCE and then changed to an attacking intent against North.

Just stick with attacking as we're playing Carlton. It probably gives them a slight opening and their best chance of winning, but I'll be ropable if we revert to a lock down method just to secure 4 points.

If you want to make a change you have to go ALL IN. We're 0-4 for a number of reasons, but ultimately the group haven't bought in.

Play Silvagni please. We need defenders that can win one on ones.

Game plan relies on it now much more than previously and we are being found out. Alex Pearce I reckon is at a similar level to Dawson almost despite his age. Hopefully Silvagni over his concussion now, was really good for Peel till then.

I'm as calm as I've been for ages and I agree completely with this statement from Fyfe.
"I've played in games where we've won and not felt like we've played as well as we did against North Melbourne on the weekend," Fyfe said.
That was my impression as well. The form is trending up as opposed to last year where we eked out tough wins but the form gradually went down.

I like Langdon but am struggling to see why the love for him in this game. Croz has had a long time in the system . He must be close to a marked card.

Langdon had a down game against North but was good against the Eagles. Young player Salim is not going to dominate every game. Agree with Croz was hoping for a lot more and he missed his one chance late in the game to make it a break even on his report card.

Tabs looked like a playing not confident of his keeping his spot and affecting his play - needs to get a run of games with AP in defense and see how they go. Unless Apeness is showing something for Peel in the 2nd half of the season.

Before this year going for wafl match , I defend tab a lot but after this year I going to said uebergang might not had tab tank but he is a smarter footballer then Tab. Like I said against East Perth as forward uebergang got a disappointed first half but once he move to defend he got two contested mark . I even check live wafl app stats to make sure is him who mark not mistaken as collins as I am sitting on the other side

I agree on Langdon being young he is going to have down games but saying he played well when he had a very average game is just rewarding him because he is young. I certainly hope he plays every game from now on good or bad.

Spot on Tabs. He needs to be allowed to play a few back to back no matter what. He may as well have had a neon sign on his back flashing "I'm Playing with No Confidence".

Croz I think should stay too. He didn't seem to be into the game as much as you'd like, but he didn't stink it up either. I guess DeBoer would be pushing for his spot, and Mzungu. There's no way the form of either has really been anything better than what Croz has given. I rate DeBoer's toughness and ability to get his own ball, and given how exposed we've looked at stoppages at times it might be tempting, but I still hope we stick with Croz for another game at least.

He says we're still coming to grips with the new interchange rule - wonder if that's related to our fadeouts.

We used all 90 rotations with over 2 minutes to go. Most teams aren't using the full 90.

Goldsteins extra tank Vs Griffin and us having to spend extra petrol after conceding the first four goals always meant we were going to struggle at the end. On the upside if you stop giving the other team a four goal head start we would have been right it in till the end. Especially I think if 211 or Clarke had been available. Griff did well in the ruck for the most part though.

So what are other teams doing that Freo aren't?

Going in to the season I thought that our bigger bodied midfielders such as Fyfe, Barlow and Mundy would be better suited to resting forward for longer which meant we could manage our rotations off the bench better.
