Changes vs Collingwood @ MCG

Polec is a huge out. Killed in uncontested possession 2 weeks in a row. We lack pace.
OUT: Polly, NEADE, Young, Trengove
IN: Howard, Drew, White. Lienert (if we have a spot to upgrade)/ Bonner

On the larger MCG we will miss Polec, Kens going to have think hard about this one. I'm going to have to shift my think on S Gray, becoming like Broady, very consistent at his role just had terrible finishing in front of goals, busts his gut every week though. Neade has to be out, looks like a 15 yr old out there, no point chasing someone down only to bounce off them when he tries to tackle. I still think our forward entries and conversion rate is our biggest problem this year and no better week on the big 'G' to bring in another tall forward who can kick goals. This weeks selections will be more telling than last week. We could play ourselves into form on the G as we do seem to be in a slump.

Wonder if Ken noticed Hartlett kicking that long goal and thought something positive about Hartlett moving closer to goal, seems obvious.

Time to give Jessie Palmer a crack otherwise put a line through him.

White and Krak are dark horses for an inclusion.

In reality it'll just be Pittard for Polec.

Ken spoke up the SANFL in the presser, wonder if he's feeling the heat from other coaches, if I was in the seconds today I'd play my arse off, otherwise it's making a mockery of rewarding in-form players and Ken can't keep rewarding the usual players who keep sustaining 'average'. Ken seemed unhappy in the presser, knows we are in a slump and hopefully he mixes up selections. Houston proved to me he didn't deserved to be dropped.

For me
Out - Trengove (from the forward line)
In - preferably somebody tall but the way the forward line looked yesterday it will probably be Neade at FF with R Gray at CHF

I would hope Ken is feeling heat from the assistants. If they are satisfied as a group with what was dished up last night, we are in all sorts.

I think White will come in and push Boak to the wing.

Would like to see a change re Trengove going back and Howard/Eddy coming in as well but not sure we will see that. We looked best when Paddy was up forward providing a leading option so we need a forward who can do fhat in the side

It might also be time to try Palmer over Young

I think Neade will retain his spot.

Why the **** do people want pittard back in straight away?

What no one saw him play last week?

A call for pittard this week is an endorsement on Kens gold pass system.

I know Polec is injured but Pittard is not a like for like replacement so it's a bit baffling to me.

People are taking the piss matey. Having a go at Kens selection history.

If SPP has been able to play every game this year, surely our other first year midfielders Atley and Drew get a look in at some point??

It was good to see some friction and frustration in the coaches box yesterday ... and there was some experimentation as well.
I reckon this will flow on to the selection table this week.
Trengove rucked more - Ryder spent more time deep forward - Dixon was further out from goal all points to an obvious flaw in our current set-up. We are one tall FORWARD short. Howard will be in this week if his good form continues.

Matt White is done at AFL level. Not even fast anymore. Just pumps his little legs really quickly.

Eddy, Howard, Marshall and Frampton have something to play for today.

Atley, Bonner and Drew likewise.

Force them to pick you. And destroy Sturt while you're at it. ;)

One has nothing to do with the other. My question is who do they replace. Both are contested mids? With Ollie, brad and the pep all performing where do they play.

Boak has been pushed to the forward line and is struggling. Also we are down 2 runners in Polec and Amon.

I don't think our pace is as important as some people are making out. We need to fix our workrate and skills before anything else. Speed of ball movement and accuracy > leg speed. This is what makes Polec a great player, not his ability to run fast.

Perhaps one of these guys can play outside too. Not convinced we have the team balance right yet. I'm not gonna get carried away with 'like for like' replacements while there's so many being played in odd positions.

Neade for a tall forward.

Spot on:thumbsu:

Jacko is not and never will be remotely effective as a forward but when he rucked and Paddy went forward there was a significant change in the forward line.

Surely Ken has to come to terms with his failed Jacko experiment and bring in another tall.

As other have said, Young and Neade out (for ever)

This is how I saw it too.

The second half, with Dixon playing centre half, Ryder deep full forward, Trengove rucking and Westhoff and Impey in defence, was Ken replicating a setup that has Dixon centre half, Howard deep full forward, Ryder rucking and Trengove in defence. Impey had to drop out of the forward line to make room.

It was also Ken conceding that Trengove isn't working up forward - maybe Ken and Lade were arguing about that?

All signs point to Howard for Collingwood.

Young for White (it's not like Young is fast and White is a better forward), Polec for Howard. Put Impey on the wing (I believe he played his best game last year against Collingwood on the MCG in that position).
