Am I the only one who has no qualms about Lecras being on field? I honestly think there's more footy in the bloke, and I'd back him to find form even though he's had a very poor back half of the season.

He started the season really well and was easy best 22. Whipping boy call from David King, and it's an easy axe chop to drop a small forward as opposed to a mid (especially when JK is back, and seemingly in form) so I'm glad Simmo is persevering at least with Lecca from that perspective. If can get himself back where he's consistently good for 2+ goals per game (and not gimmi goals) from here on to seasons end I'd be chuffed.

He probably won't go around again, but he's been one of the best small forwards of the last decade, and everyone comes to the end of their career eventually. Hope he has a solid few games, for nothing more than nostalgia and because as a quality servant of the club for a long period of time he deserves it. Folk calling him Lecrap are as disrespectful as David King imo, garbage form

So we should carry him to the line because he has runs on the board?

Were you around when some of our genuine stars exited from the game in the Judge/Woosh period?

No, because he is a small forward in a team that has very few entries into the forward line, most of which go to the talls. He has also set up goals for others. No question it is touch and go as his form does waver but I would prefer to fix the problem in the midfield and then worry about the other areas.

I'm saying I think he's got it in him to find form, over others such as Priddis et al. If he has a garbage game this week, then have a club dinner, say thanks for your service send him on his way at seasons end...I have no problem with that but I do think turning on a once supremely talented player in that way many fans have is pretty poor.

He hasn't asked to go around again, he's not really keeping anyone out of the side as such, so let him have his swan song if he's got it in him, and if he doesn't well that's that. It's a heart call but it is what it is

The problem is we don't have any fix for our midfield problems in our list at the moment. WHICH IS THE PROBLEM.

We do have a fix for an out of form and/or carrying an injury Lecras. Their names are Karpany (fit and ready), Mutimer (fit and ready), Venables (not fit), Rioli (not fit).

Those who watch EP, would you say Parto was more dangerous when the EP midfield had the likes of redden, hutchings and Masten playing?
Didn't redden play when he kicked the bags of 3 and 4? I guess he could have a decent impact in our seniors this season as HFF/wingmen as he has better support.

Is he really a small forward though?

He's never been a great crumber and most of his pace and agility is now gone. He's a sort of medium marking option but without much physical strength, pace or recovery and hes a liability defensively.

I'd rather rotate a young mid through mid/half forward or, as seems the case, Karpany if he's on the bubble too. I can't see any value in Lecca above those other options. He might get 3 or more this week because Brisbane but I'd still rather have Karpany down there or any of Cole, Nelson or Duggan who are all named on the extended bench.

I’m sick of the general public calling the ‘play partington’ call. Most of the posters are just piggybacking on someone else’s comment. The poor kids going to have 18 disposals, 3 tackles and 2 points in game 1 and get savaged
I don't care if he doesn't get a kick, it's simply recognizing there is some form at WAFL level, rewarding it and getting on with the job of blooding the kids. I now want to see Lamb get a gig along with further stints from Karpany and Murtimer. If Venables, waterman and Rioli were fit I would ecpect games from them as well.

so whats Parto Pass mark?

If he gets proper midfield minutes, 14 touches, 3 inside 50's and 2 clearances should be enough.

You all know the only reason they list 'quad' for Priddis is so he can come straight back in next without anyone asking questions on form / is he past it etc. Now Simmo can just say he was injured and runs on the board etc when asked next team selection.

Do you seriously think it is going to help young players putting them in a forward line getting no supply, particularly when the guys you mentioned have not been getting a lot of possessions. Le Cras's form is not that bad that we cant keep him in while we fiddle with the midfield after taking the handicap out. While on the subject it is understandable to a degree that "soreness" creeps in or in this case a "quad" as you try and protect your players rep. I think that in trying to keep your followers or members a bit more honesty and transparency is required. I have backed Simpson and would be prepared to keep on doing that but find it hard to get over that comment that Priddis had to be selected simply because he was Matt Priddis.

Idc about what reason the club gives, thank **** Priddis is out and Partington in is a bonus. Not to talk Brisbane down, but them at home is the perfect time to debut.

I was at the game when he kicked 10 against Richmond in Melbourne if I recall correctly. He was not playing mid he was starting out of the pocket. He has skills and is one of the best marks and kicks in the team. I believe he has been badly used by being played in the midfield. Figure out what his strengths are and use them.

He's never kicked 10 against Richmond.

He did kick 12 against Essendon in about 1915 (2010) but I'm not sure that's relevant to his position in 2017.

Did you dream that 10 goal game?

Are you thinking of Jack Riewoldt kicking 10 against us?

12 possessions and a goal.

Fully expect him to not make the trip to Etihad next week when Priddis comes back barring an exceptional debut.
