Newton an automatic out, please... I'd suggest PJ would play given how tall North's team is at times (HMac, Goldstein, Hale(?)).

Bennell has been a liability for the past month. Dunn has had two bad weeks on the trot also... may play a defensive role on Firrito this week though. If not, Bate kicked 5 for Casey, and Maric also played well.

Miller has opted to play Casey finals instead of a farewell game, good bloke.

So...

Please do not suggest Bartram should be dropped.

I think we can exploit Norfs talls by adding a bit of pace. Jamar to ruck alone. I can't imagine we will give Bell a fairwell game, and Miller has declined one.

Bate pretty much BOG for Casey last week. I believe he would have qualified to play finals for Casey as well though, so we might leave him at Casey to increase their finals chances. Same might apply for PJ.

It is probably best left for the bay, but its one of those silly little names that sticks. Poor Jordie Jizzbits has the same issues no doubt.

I would like to see atleast one of Cheeny, Maric or Mcnarmara get a run. We can justify dropping Bennell or wonna for maric and one of Riv/garland for one of Cheeny/Mcnamara as they have all been performing well in the VFL but seem to be forgotton about.

I have put no proper thought into match ups or team balance for these changes, I'd just like to see them get a go.

The number of times the Dees have been called 'Meltank' on other boards is ridiculous, so I don't see a problem referring to them as Norf.

Morton lucky, but whats the point in dropping him now. Dunn and Jones would be under the pump as well if the season was a few more rounds. Looking for some more head over the ball from Watts. Some encouraging signs last game from that point of view.

Just want to see whatever team selected to play with heart for Junior and send him out on a good note. Play like we did against Port and I'll be disgusted...

Injury update on afl site... Melbourne TBC, as usual.

Forgot about Warnock, just really battled against Port... Out for Joel Mac if he gets up. Or maybe Cheney if not?

Tapscott did his shoulder again for Casey.

Watts also got his nose broken by the looks, but kept playing.

If Bennell stays in the team, he MUST go to half back and find some form/confidence... he's going nowhere as a forward.

Give the kid some time, he's only been playing as a small forward for this year and he's done it reasonably well.

Writing him off completely as a small forward this early is ridiculous, he's got the goal sense, skill set, defensive capabilities and the finesse to be a very good small forward but he isn't going to become an A-Grade small forward in the space of less than a season.

OK I didn't mean to write him off completely... rather, I reckon he has 'stagnated' as a fwd in the last month. Of course, he has sublime skills, footy smarts etc... I prefer him as a HBF though, with Wonna as the crumbing forward.
Put him in the backline and let him win his own ball rather than depending on others' delivery. A couple of those trademark evasive + Aston Martin-smooth runs would do his confidence no end of good... especially with Davey not in the team.

I think Bate should be an inclusion, IMO our biggest deficiency on the weekend was not having a traget across the wing when coming out of the backline. To many times (in the last 2 weeks) when going foward Bennell or Wona have had to compete against taller opponents.

No. He broke (not sure it's broken) it when shepparding on the far side of the ground, some time after the "hit".

He had a great game in terms of putting his body on the line!

This game has taken on new importance to me after reading Biffinator's preview. It is about respect. I still fiercely disagree with Junior being pushed out. But if he has to go, then it needs to be with a win. A man who kept held his head up and set the standard through the darkest of all days must be sent off with a win. He deserves nothing less. He is an outstanding character.
