Absolutely.

The Bulldogs Scored 18 goals 17 behinds.

11 goals 11 behinds came as a result of direct turnovers.

Hacking forward from stoppages. Back to last year's method. Quantity is great, quality is shitful. Thommo is a big problem in our midfield mix. He gets plenty, but he often handballs less than 1 metre to a player in as much trouble. Or he he turns inside and kicks to a dangerous contest.

We were a shit tin better before Thonmo turned back up. Looking forward to him having another mid 30's, while we are destroyed at the stoppages.

Does the brains trust at selection think that Thomson is still ahead of Lyons and Bob ATM? I would prefer a line up at the centre bounce that was less predictable and I've heard Philthy say how he likes to have predictability on his side. The more we rotate at stoppages and centre bounces could be beneficial.

Can we make this catch on as a nickname for Walsh? I see on his profile page on the club website that his nickname is just Walshy. That won't do. I want to get it to the point that journos are calling him Philthy when asking him questions.

I'm willing to put my head on the block and say again that I don't like Thomo in the side, yeah he gets a lot of the ball but he is so one dimensional...Big blind kicks to no one.

I've been using it since he got appointed. Also a special mention to Doctor B for Kim Jong Phil. That's a ripper too.:D

Nice theory but nup, your just wrong, wrong, wrong.

Go back and watch the replay. There was only one goal that came from a post stoppage turnover. I listed every turnover that resulted in a score to the Doggies and the biggest culprit was Brodie Smith. When we thumped it forward from a stoppage we had a defensive set up to limit the damage. Our problem was turning the ball over when we were streaming towards the F50. The Doggies just ran it back past our non-existent zone.

Thommo was clearly one of our few good players.

If Thommo is the benchmark, one thing I've noticed is that Lyons is generally moving forward. Thommo is a sideways bloke. His natural movement is not hard forward. Would love to find out how many metres he gained with his 40 touches.

Lyons also searches for deeper targets. Bobs just an extractor from what I've seen, esp against St Kilda last yr. when Bob is outside he still gets it but I guess I'm saying his hands are better than his feet. Would like them both in the mix for mine and it could destabilise the opposition mids as they've hardly seen them.

Has ROB spent any time in defence during the SANFL matches?

Also when is the cut off for rookie upgrades/LTI's?

LTI's seem to have an 8 week minimum according to the rules. You'd think that as soon as a player suffers an injury that is certain to cover that period, then they're placed on the list. As supporters, we don't care until someone is elevated in their place. We never hear of it until a player is elevated. As an example, did we hear that Otten was placed on the list? It's simply not important, no one cares about the fact that some poor bloke has made their way to the LTI. Until some kid takes their place, then it's enormos news. Do I remember who made way for Kelly, no I don't. But I do know that Kelly is doing a great job in shitful circumstances.

Surely we've got plenty of LTI upgrades. Otten, that tall hawthorn bloke, B Crouch, Dear, the list goes on. If our medical staff have half an idea, then you list them as soon as you know that they're out. When did B Crouch break his foot? Is it 8 games or 8 weeks?

thommo excels at what he does. That is beyond doubt. Have we improved the quality of our clearances in the last 2 games. Especially taking into account the benefit of bringing in a bloke that averaged mid 30's. The disposals that Thommo got result in others not bring there. Is there a chance that thise others have a better defensive action. Or could they provide a better attacking give than Thommo.

He's a great one way rover. But his time has come. He is getting plenty and we look worse at the stoppages. Those that had concerns were spot on. Thommo is a star, but his singular skill-set has run its course.

Kelly was upgraded for Reilly I think so. There's still Otten and Dear that can be placed on the list AFAIK or guess.
I'm keen on letting ROB loose on Ryder. As has been noted, he's a hell of a contested and Ryder doesn't like the niggle.

So the only variable in the last two weeks has been Thommo? What shite. You just can't make such a conclusion on such a small smaple size with so many variables. If Thommo didn't play and M Crouch did, we would have been spanked by another 5 goals.

I wonder if he'll still be there when Brad Crouch returns

Why not?

Is he incapable of learning?

Because he's not an accumulator. He's a flashes-of-brilliance opportunist. He's going to have quiet games even in the SANFL. That's the nature of his position and his role.

A poster a few pages back said we shouldn't bring him in because he hasn't showed SANFL form, which shows a really poor understanding of how he should be developing. I hope the club isn't falling into the same trap.

Is this tantamount to saying we have no outside structure/set-up/pattern to work off Thommo's gets? I'm just recalling images of how the Dogs ran wedge-like with multiple handpass options out and past us.

Has anyone heard the rumour that Tex has a dislocated shoulder and is out for 2 to 3 weeks?
Just randomly flicked to this page without reading the rest of this thread, but has anything extra been said about this? I don't he's dislocated his shoulder (we would have heard something by now) but he certainly hurt his right shoulder in the 4th quarter for memory and was in a bit of pain at first. Was able to rotate his arm but he seemed to be struggling with it for a few minutes.

Heard the rumour but we did send him back onto the field when the game was lost. You wouldn't do that with your most prized asset if he popped a shoulder.

Id imagine Ramsey will have been upgraded if that was the case as the cupboard is very bare.

Im predicting 3 changes this week
Ins. Cheney, Cameron, M.Crouch
Outs. Laird, Wright, Kelly
