Chapman gone

I'll agree the photo does seem to suggest there was contact to the head, although still frame shots can distort things somewhat.

Chapman should argue he was trying to smother though. Worked for Dawson.
You could be correct. As the photo was taken there could have been a chick flash her **** in the crowd and Gray swung his head to the left very quickly avoiding all contact from Chappy. We'll never know.

If Chapman hit him as hard as people think he did, Gray's head would've swung to the left anyway due to the impact, yet he threw his head back to exaggerate the contact. That to me would suggest there wasn't that much impact, but I guess that's for others to decide.

Lol Geelong supporter complaining that Leigh Mathews prejudicing chappy with his comments
Obviously didn't see the 1000 replays and million comments from the media and that was only in the first hour after the hit from buddy
By Monday the media will have us questioning whether it really happened at all

Says the nervous Hawthorn supporter.

Seriously, there was nothing in that. Very mild bump. Bloke got up and took his kick, no injury resulted. Would hate to see a player go for that.

In southern urchins defence he was quoting Geelong comments from the franklin gone thread

I have never said it was hard. Low impact and reckless for leaving the ground will give him a week. Mayne and Enright's tummy taps were considered low, I think Chappy dished out something that should be given the same grading.

Secondly has the game come to this - you have to find one still image to support your case? If you watch the footage without reducing it to a still image at a time there is no discernible head contact. Robbie Gray acts it up throwing his head back. Gets the free and that's the end of the matter as far as he is concerned

'Has the game come to this'!?!

Calm down sweety. This is a discussion on what the mrp may do. Nothing more

You say there was no head contact, so a still was provided to show there was.

Firstly, Sttew and Winty is plural, so do rather than does.

How does a still show head contact if there is no head contact? I could take action photo's of a single punch to the head and only 1 still of 10 would show head contact.

If you follow the footage and don't show bias, there is high contact after the footy has been kicked. He had options that he didn't take. He's in trouble.

High contact, low impact. Reckless or negligent will determine if he misses any time. Jumping in the air won't help his cause. Any carry-over points?

I would say he misses a week based with what has happened this year. Not saying it's right, though.

Port won't put Chappy in - so it'll definitely be low impact

The MRP has been fairly consistent all year that if your feet leave the ground then it's reckless

Obviously high

So it should be Reckless High Low Impact = 225 points (1 week with a guilty plea)

I'm sure the MRP will class it as Negligent High Low impact = 125 points (0 weeks with a guilty plea)

Looking forward to playing the Cats this week and want to see Chappy there

Joke, i know others have gone for less, but damn, it'd be bloody poor for him to miss a prelim over that.

IMO you have to give some leeway regarding head high contact.

I could understand Hawks fans being livid if he got off though.

So it appears he has 0 carryover points, just expired. That could well save him.

Pics have shown some contact to the head, albeit slight, so it'll most likely be classed as 'high' contact.

Negligent or reckless? How the MRP view his leaving the ground could be crucial as, unlike Franklin, Chapman appears to do so while in the act of the bump. So going on that, reckless.

Level of impact? Gray got up almost straight away, so one would imagine 'low' impact. Kelly on Goddard looked to the naked eye to be of similar force, so low for me.

So to summarise: High Contact + Reckless + Low Impact = 5 activation points = 225 demerit points (2 games)

Early plea would reduce by 25% (56.25 points) to 168.75 points (1 game). Considering challenging it could mean missing a Grand Final, not to mention the club potentially being a bit gun-shy after the Kelly suspension earlier in the season, I'd think that this will be the most likely scenario.

That said, this is the MRP we are talking about, so who knows??

Here you go.

Looks like a head hit to me.

Only diff between the two is chaps feet are off the ground.

But who knows who the wheel will spin
I feel a bit sorry for buddy. Look how low malceski is how could you not make head contact. Also chapman is off the ground and the port player is fully upright

Yep agree with this-1 week for not much but that is how it is. (Can't see how he could have any carryover points-has been out alll year.)

He left the ground and hit him well late so negligent is off the table, it can only be reckless.

High contact, he absolutely got him in the head. The post earlier in the thread saying that the still image shouldn't matter and there is no obvious head high contact in the video is one of the more ridiculous posts I've read on bigfooty. It's shoulder to face.

Luckily for all concerned, it will probably be low impact because Gray got up.

2 weeks down to 1. Him having no case to answer would be absolutely corrupt, regardless of how harshly treated Geelong have been recently by the MRP. Incidents exactly like this have been getting weeks for a few seasons.

Bias does funny things to people's eyesight.

Nothing in it really- last nights and last weeks umpires should be suspended from umpiring geelong games- again verged on borderline cheating.
Again we see the AwFuL manipulating the result to get their de$ired match up.
Geleong and HAwks play under different rules than the rest of us.
