They're fine and suitable list additions. Just not at the price paid.
As for our key forward needs, last offseason wasn't the correct offseason.
In years past there have been the James Podsiadly and Jarrad Waite types with more in the tank. Travis Cloke was that guy last year with more and being underrated, but he's gone now.
2014 was the offseason to load up on key forwards with Wright available at 5, Moore. Reece McKenzie I liked late as a third key forward but for reasons beyond AFL he was unable to make it.
On this years draft I have some good news. It's a draft stacked with key forwards (and ruckmen). Not good for much else. But in terms of long term build. This year is the year if we have a pick or two inside the first round. And being a relatively (in my view) weaker draft, I'd expect some clubs to shop those picks.
Wells is alright? He is injury prone. He will play probably 10 more games for the pies at best. Absolute waste of money.Wells is alright, we need guys with pace and foot skills.
Mayne sucks and we would have been better off keeping Cloke.

Don't think it matters, my understanding is even if we delist Mayne we still have to pay him out and it counts towards cap space for however many years we contracted him for.I said at the time and i'll say again, neither will make it to the ends of their contracts.

That could pan out, but that is a worst case scenario. I back the club's decision to bring Wells in.
Mayne... that was a plan so cunning, it was more cunning than a fox who was professor of cunning at Oxford!
To all those looking to load up on the 2018 draft because it's a so called "super draft" let this be a warning to you! KM is probably the man on here re draft outlook and this statement is completely at odds with how things have panned out.
For mine this year remains the one to load up and we must fix our KP problems. On a side note it's good to see you've finally acknowledged how bad the Mayne move was Saintly. Amazing really after the early season stubbornness...

True. And at some point the list spot itself may be important enough to free it up even with those caveats.
