I hate to say 'I told the collective YOU (as in this forum)'. BUT...I did. Four years ago I and my old man (Meto) saw the cultural problems appear in transitioning from Home and Away to Finals footy. Scott is simply NOT the man to take us to our next flag. He hasn't been for a long time. But he's still got 2020 - 2021 - AND, I kid you not 2022 locked up. If we go out in straight sets next week, I say the honourable thing to do would be for him to humbly fall on his sword and resign. No one on this forum could possibly defend Scott then...surely?!

We don't buy memberships for Geelong and haven't for years.
We give money to the CS ego club.
& it's some ego too!!!!!
A win isn't really worth it unless he gets talked about for really clever coaching\selection moves.
It's all about Chris. At least Wheatley will still suck him off.
After we pay this money we then get told how ungrateful we are by the CEO and president if we don't feed his ego after the finals.
Good value.

We were not outplayed vs Collingwood. Geelong just played such a gutless brand. Even with the missed shots.Having a defender as a coach is like promoting the CFO to be CEO. Lose all market aggression and count yours costs only. Scott only cares about not losing. When u drum that approach into your team Fear becomes the defacto mentality

Gotta love the comments before the game saying the reason he dropped Stanley was because of potential rain. Fairly certain there wasn't a drop of rain all game. Way to go Scott!
Even i knew there would be no rain as i always have to check the radar for work.
How could a professional club get this wrong?
They didn't. It was just bullshit and they were going to do it anyway

We might as well just delist all the rucks anyway. Why waste 4 list spots when we can just put Blicavs in the ruck!

I don't ask for much, all I wanted is for the team that finished at the top of the ladder of a national competition to show up to the finals looking like they know how to play the game in which they are employed to play.

Scott and his staff clearly have player motivational issues. Different players each year, same deer in the headlights, s**t-the-bed first quarters. You can see the thin veneer of confidence within the player group melt away in minutes.

A coaches job is partly to fill his players with belief they can win a premiership. Since 2011 he hasn't even got close.
To be fair, the players in 2011 had mostly done it before, so Scotts terrible mental preparations wouldn't have affected them.

LOL...didn't see Collingwood crap themselves at the weather forecast. They'd never even consider dropping Grundy even if it was coming in sideways. That should tell us all that Scott has no confidence in finals footy.

If we by a miracle make it to the GF and win awesome, but if we have a CS led straight sets or prelim exit, surely, SURELY he must be sacked!?

In 2013 in the qf I thought it was close to a scackable
offence leaving Hawkins out...since then he has been pathetic, leave Stanley out against an AA Rickman, play a FB against him, losing finals in the 1st qtr, I know u might think this is a rant (and i don't care) but SURELY he has to go if we don't make the GF? It is unacceptable given our h+w record, ladder position to allow this to continue to occur.

Thoughts?

P.S. I'm happy to camp out at KP and demand he goes if the unthinkable occurs, who's with me?

Definition of a professional AFL coach:

someone who can - by way of media savvy and painting the club board into a corner - can stay on 3 years (minimum) after it would have been sensible to move him on.

Ross Lyon is King. Anyone else we know?
