Past Chris Yarran

Perhaps Yarran's best efforts in round one were superior to the other possible nominees?

And showed that he will be a genuine star?

Yarran's slow trigger finger and poise to hit two teammates by holding onto the ball was pure class.

Yarran didn't just blaze away like Robinson.

Chris' defensive pressure against Richmond was superb.

The nomination was deserved.

Yarran is a football artist with the field his canvas. :p :D

I only posted that image to highlight the 100% disposal efficiency and 1 clanger stats for round five. :o

looking at those stats I cannot believe he got the rising star in Round 1. He was great last round and is an absolute star, but his disposal efficiency and clangers should of prevented him getting the nomination
3 goals, 2 goal assists and 6 tackles mate, he was never gonna miss out.

Meh, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

IIRC there were several notable performances from young midfielders in Round 1, I just thought that the clangers would of prevented him getting the nomination. Nonetheless given his early form he deserved a nomination

Stop looking at the stats mate, they're making you look like a flamingo. :p

If you watch the game you'd know why.

Kicked early goals (the hardest ones to kick)
Set up plenty and assisted at least two.

The stats back him up anyways...

2 of the clangers were the FAs, which isn't that much considering he had a few I50s, and could've put a ball OOF from a shot at goal.
Not to mention he only had about 66% game time, from which 6 tackles and 11 touches is a superb return... Not to mention 3 goals.

Zaharakis, Ziebell and Banfield were the other favourites. None of them were as damaging as Yarran's performance.
It would have been a travesty if they gave it to Zaharakis who isn't pure silk like Yarran.

Both Zaharakis and Robinson need remedial kicking lessons.

Cant believe how much Yazza has bulked up and he is looking as fit as anything.

How many times did we say pre-draft he doesn't need a lot of the ball to be effective?? Kicked 1 last night and set up another 2 or 3......6 tackles......only 10 disposals but 79 SC points.

How much excitement have Yarran, Betts and Garlett brought to the forward line :)

Well I creamed when I saw the run on the wing, was effortless and watching the aint's flog try and keep up with him was classic gold.

He looks like he has another gear when he goes on those runs, silky and runs above the ground, amazing to watch him strolling on the wing while the Saints player was sprinting to catch him and yet not making a impression.

2 direct goal assists that I counted to Betts in the last. Then those two runs along the wing that also resulted in a further two goals. :thumbsu:

Nearly my favourite player after some of his classy and hard efforts against Fremantle.

Set up Garlett's goal by body lining the ball.

Broke a Pavlich tackle after hebowled over McPhee to win a contested possession on the HBF.

The pick up of a grubber kick on the run then the two shimmys and the vision to hit Thornton on the right flank was pr0n.
