Clement VS Fletcher

James Clement is by far the better full back between him and inspector gadget.
as evidenced by his b.o.g. last week, the new hands in the back rule that everyone predicted would be the end of him only served to dish up more james clement magic.
add to the fact that he's never tripped anyone with elongated arms or legs and you have the complete fullback, not just some ginger nut that gets a game because of his old man.

Clement isn't a full back, so the comparison is invalid from the start.

Clement is probably the most versatile, and one could argue the best defensive player in the league.

However, if you put them up against a taller forward, Fletcher would probably do better than Clement, because Clement isn't a true KPP.

He's not a CHB either - He doesn't consistently play on tall forwards.

There's nothing wrong with it - He usually plays on the most dangerous forward, be they tall, short or in between.

But he's not comparable to somebody who does play on the Nick Riewoldt's and Matthew Richardson's of the league... I've been trying to think of forwards that Fletcher actually does well against though, and I'm struggling.

There aren't many 'stay at home' full-forwards in the league anymore. Richardson, Fevola, Neitz and Lloyd ... thats about it. Forwards like Reiwold, Brown, Hall etc are essentially centre half forwards and he wouldn't play on them. Fletcher is wasted as a stopping-defender.

It is a Centre Half Back Vs A Back Pocket. Clement will only play Full Back when it is Collingwood Vs Western Bulldogs or any other team with a small Forward line.
