"done and dusted" is pretty strong language.
Hard to not take that at face value
Except it was "pretty much done and dusted" as opposed to simply "done and dusted."
I'm welcome to being proved wrong though.

IMO, if we don't get Young, will keep the cap space open for 2014.
I'm sure we will have a few players coming out of contract- namely Daisy so there's no need to just chase anyone just because we will have some $$$ available.
It will be Clinton Young as our last recruit or nothing.

lol i'm not reading into any of this, walshy's words have been misplaced obviously. collingwood have enough cap space to do what they like now and young will be very much in the thinking. no more trading is fair enough but youngy isn't out of the question by all means
He doesn't mention trading at all. In fact he makes mention of both trades and FA. He says we are done and then goes on to discuss our acquisitions from both trades and FA, making solitary mention of Lynch. Then says we are looking towards the draft.I read the Geoff Walsh comments and from what I can see all he said is that we won't be trading any more and don't want to lose any of our picks. Signing a free agent is totally different though.
The lack of news coming on Young IMO means that there are still negotiations in place regarding his contract. He may be happy to come to the Pies but may be pushing for more money which makes me think that it won't happen. He would be best 22 at the Pies but not a player we should throw everything at just to get him as a free agent.

If Walsh meant only trades, he would have said, "we are done with trading, but are still looking at potential FA" or something similar. Young is a decent player, but not a star, so there's no reason to go after him if we feel we would be better served by going with a younger player.
You mean like Daisy and Pendles did in their first year?i don't understand our premiership window is right now, yeah keep the picks but while FA is around we have a great chance to get some good players. how typical of this club to let players we actually need go!. a first year player isn't going to have an impact like young would.

You keep moving the target, hold it still so I can get a fair shot at itpendles and daisy were top 5 draft picks, we don't have top 5 draft picks we have first round picks they could be anything.
