Whats the penalty for assault these days?

given that this assault seems at the lower end of the scale it will also depend if he has any other similar history

from my experience, I was out one night when a bouncer smacked my missus on the ass so I smacked him back and busted his nose, given this was classified as a common assault which is at the lower end and given that it was my first (and last) offence of any nature I got of with a fine, paying court cost and no record of conviction

I was also fortunate that I had a female magistrate who took exception to the bouncer smacking my missus on the ass

Probably right & maybe i was a bit over the top but it still does not excuse a member of the AFC coaching staff who managed to put himself in that position in the first place especially after all the bloody turmoil our club has gone through this year in regards off field dramas.
