Personal Experience Coincidences in life

In the bottom right hand corner on page 41 of the August 21, 2009 edition of "The Bendigo Advertiser", a brief article appeared celebrating Aussie pole vaulter Steve Hooker's success in securing a place at the World Athletics championships that year in Berlin. The article noted his achievement with the simple headline "Hooker qualifies".
It was extremely obvious however that immediately to the left of this headline were the local escort advertisements.

This is a premonition I once had, even though this is probably not exactly the same as a coincidence. I am not big on foretelling the future and this is the only premonition-related experience I have ever had in my life.

When I was in Year 8, I woke up one morning with something in my brain telling me that Fitzroy were going to beat Collingwood in the upcoming round of matches. I didn't know the margin or who else was going to win in the other matches but I just knew that Fitzroy would win and nothing could prevent it. I even told a few mates, I just had to let someone else know. And for the record, Fitzroy did indeed win, with the score from that game, round 16, 1982, being Fitzroy 10.24 (84) to Collingwood 9.10 (64).

I was sitting at my desk bored mindlessly as I had no work to do.

When I started checking out the office P.A and thought, I wonder what would happen if I tried to hit that.

At that exact moment an alert popped up reminding me to book everyone in for sexual harassment refresher.

Being adopted, I, obviously, have natural parents and adoptive parents. When I made contact with my natural father's side of the family many years ago, I discovered a few similarities between my natural and adoptive dads.

They were both born in Europe (Croatia and Germany)
They have both been married twice
They are both the eldest child of their family
They both have one sister, who is the youngest of the family. My natural father's sister is named Rosanna and my adoptive father's sister is named Anna-Rose.

I'm watching Breaking Bad currently. Last night I saw an episode called Kafkaesque and thought nothing of it. Some made up word I assumed.

This morning I read an article that has the word Kafkaesque in it

bloody conspiracy I tells ya

Kafkaesque comes the work of Franz Kafka and describes surreal events with an overbearing sense of foreboding. Australia's asylum seeker policy can best be summed up as Kafkaesque.

Just yesterday, for some reason I had "Don't You Forget About Me" stuck in my head.

Get into the car, start it up, turn on the radio and what do you think was playing?

Well how the hell would we know? We weren't there, tell us!

That says a lot about not only your choice of radio station, but where your brain's at.

Consider, the amount of times such radio stations repeat the same songs, and you're bound to hear the same song eighty times an hour.

Well actually it had come about because we'd been taking about the INXS show and how my friend incorrectly thought don't you forget about me was an INXS song.

And additionally, I'm not a frequent Gold listener. Just happened by chance to be where the radio sat after I'd flicked through stations on the previous drive.

Sure, yep, I believe you. :D Amazed this whole story didn't happen to a "friend" of yours instead. :p

Had the same thing happen to me once. Opened the fridge to grab a beer for the road and started singing the "Stay just a little bit longer" song from the beer ad... Get in the car and the first song that comes on the radio is none other. Very strange as:
1. It was the only time I've ever sung that song
2. I've never heard the original version of that song played on the radio either before or after that time.

All such coincidences are REALLY brief premonitions that turn out correct.

No such thing as "free will"

Life is already lived

As they start to look more into Quantum Theory and the possibility of Holographic Universe Theory, this could well be the case.

I remember one I had a few months back when I was in the city thinking I haven't seen this person in a while, a few hours later by chance I come across the same person I was thinking about earlier *cue X-Files music*

Not really a personal experience, but I noticed this and thought it could be a coincidence.

Pretty strange headline to appear 5 days after this movie appeared in cinemas around the country:

Coincidence?

No incorrect an electron can be on either side of an atom so there is still some chance

the koala incident was interesting
this happens all the time

you could take 2 dif ways home, one u usually take and the other u might go 1 in 50 as its a few kms longer
you end up going the way you hardly ever do and find out there was a big prang on the normal route or someone hit a roo or there was a radar
this happens to me a bit
premonition or whatever you like to call it

or you are late to leave because something out of the ordinary happens at home causing you to have to fix it or clean something up and leave late
finding out later that there was an accident in a certain spot on the road you would have been traveling at that exact time roughly

hasnt happened to me for a while
maybe it will now ive posted in the thread
?
