I'll usually do it when I know the customer will go have a bitch about it later (usually regular customers I have to deal with every week). They will always go on about how they should get it for free thinking we over-charged them. That being said, this is only occasionally. Most of the time, they'll have to deal with not getting free/cheaper shit.

They're not too keen on $100 notes, though.

I guess it's understandable given how easy it would be to launder dodgy hundreds through this system.
Grab a magazine, slide a counterfeit hundred in, walk away with the magazine and $95 of clean notes.
Do that about a hundred times and you've turned $10k of dirty money into slightly less clean stuff with zero risk.
Say:D for the cameras!

I presume most are taking the mickey here but if you get caught, it's fair to say you're in big trouble- Captain Obvious

Shoppers misled at online checkout
MELISSA SINGER CONSUMER AFFAIRS
May 29, 2010

WOOLWORTHS has been cheating customers of its online store by displaying inaccurate unit prices for common grocery items.

Laws introduced last December require all major grocery chains to display prices for a common measurement for a product as well as the total price.
