Well, what a slider. Had to check a few times to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me. But with pick 10, come on down…

Scott Pendlebury (centre)

will go down as one of the very best to ever play for Collingwood, so an absolute steal here. As a bit more of a reminder…
Collingwood

gouki88 two picks with plenty still on the board…

Absolute class and silk. You would happily have Pendles at Pick 10

Bugger!! Was hoping he'd last to me, had plans to pair him with another fun guy... Excellent pick. 13 top 3 finishes in the B&F is as serious as it gets. Love the Rolls Royce

That’s quite a resumé

Pretty amazing list for the top 10:

Midfield brigade: Len Thompson, Bob Rose, Nathan Buckley, Scott Pendlebury
Ruck/FWD - Peter Moore
Forwards: Gordon Coventry, Peter McKenna, Peter Daicos
Defenders: Albert Collier, Syd Coventry Snr

Were always going to a few "sliders" haha.

Pendlebury in my top 3 favourite Collingwood players of all time. Out and out gun.

I'm going to rattle off both my picks at once. Stacking my midfield with two champions is how I'm going to go about it!

With the 11th pick, I choose Dane Swan (rover). Brownlow Medal, premiership player, 5 x All-Australian, AFL MVP, 3 x Copeland winner, 2 x Anzac Medal. One of the most dominant 2 year spells I've ever seen in 2010 & 2011. I can't recall anyone who has accumulated so much footy but actually done damage with every touch.

With the 12th pick, I'm going to snag another Brownlow medalist. That Brownlow medalist being Harry Collier (ruck rover). 6 flags, 2 of which he was captain, as well as winning the B&F in two premiership years. One of the key cogs in The Machine, and was as tough as anything. Had the ability to weave in and out of traffic yet never took a backwards step. Welcome aboard!

Brilliant choices G88 and am certain that if Swanny was playing in 20-30s and winning 4 in a row he would have been even chirpier. Maybe some of the boys, Harry included, may have settled him down... or maybe not :)

Likely chirpier, but unlikely to be so tattooed!

Great choices gouki88

Both were on my hit list as my next draft choice! Had a feeling they wouldn't make it through to my pick.

Likely chirpier, but unlikely to be so tattooed!
I can see it now... 'Mr McHale, with your permission I'd like to get a small tattoo of a magpie on my shoulder'?

Mr McHale: 'What!! Like heck you are son. No player of this great club will have a tattoo under my watch'.

Note: the word hell wouldn't have been used by Jock :)

Three or four of my absolute favourite pies players of all time still on the board, but will have to go with what I promised myself and say, “with pick 13 it’s…

Jack Regan (full back)

Brings the flags, leadership, big game performance, and is possibly the closest any Collingwood player got to the infamous AFL ‘team of the century’.

commentary on his playing skills is without peer, and was no doubt well ahead of his time. Look no further than this little pearl…

Essendon champion Dick Reynolds considered Regan the best full-back he ever saw. In an article for Melbourne newspaper The Argus Reynolds recounted watching Regan play state football against the likes of Ken Farmer from South Australia and George Doig from Western Australia and said:

[H]e made them earn every goal they kicked against him. It was great to see the way in which he shadowed them or marked or punched the ball away, and then, with great dash and a beautiful kick, sent the ball in the right position for an attack. His quick thinking and unruffled style at critical moments made him a star full-back.

The Prince of Full Backs. I was hoping he would slide to 20 so that I could team him up with Leeter at CHB

Pick 14 - Dick Lee

Changed my mind even as I made the selection such is the evenness of the quality, but with GCov gone, Dick Lee is our next best goalkicker, winning it 11 times (if I can count correctly). Absolute goalkicking machine in the early days when football was just getting going, and to go with the defensive accountability of Syd Coventry, Lee will provide the highlights up forward.

Fantastic choice. You took my boy who I had pencilled in for pick 20. The first superstar of the game.

Still plenty of quality left on the board

One that comes to mind is (from Collingwood Forever) “… was one of the most popular and decorated players Collingwood has ever produced. He played nearly 250 games in 16 seasons (and would have played many more but for the Second World War), captained the side for five years, won the Copeland Trophy three times in succession and was runner-up a further three times.“ … and played in two Premierships.

Knew how to coach too.

Pick 15 - "ROWDY" Gavin Brown

This was an extremely difficult decision, so many great players still available but I wanted to pick someone who can be described as a heart and soul player who would "bleed for the jumper".

I will never forget hearing Leigh Matthews say "Gavin Brown is too courageous for his own good" - pretty damn good endorsement.

Some of this achievements/awards:

- Premiership 1990 and voted best finals player
- All Australian x 3
- AFL Most Courageous player x 4
- Collingwood team of the century
- Collingwood B & F x 3
- Collingwood captain for 5 years

If I am going into war - Gavin Brown is a bloke I would love beside me.

Definitely considered this player as well.
