Time to turn our thoughts to Collingwood next week.

Beware the wounded magpie, at home, with 50,000 screaming rabid fans, and a point to prove.

They won't be happy after getting smashed by Richmond and Brisbane - and only narrowly beating last years wooden spooners.

They will see us as fair game, a team that can't play away from Subi, and one that has been less than convincing in our first three games.

We are seriously going to need to lift our game if we want to win this one. And we do want to win this one. Big time.

I may be on my own but I am quite happy with the way CC is letting us play a "contested" one on one brand of footy.

This has been a weakness of ours in the past and it is a good thing that we have been able to play that way (twice) and actually win.

It is all good. Maybe ugly but still good.

Not dismissing the fact that we have been able to scrap a couple of wins - but I think we need to be better than that next week. 47 handpasses around the half back line ain't gonna go unpunished...

We will be right, sometimes you can only play as well as the opposition let you and there is no doubt that the Crows were on a mission. A bit more luck (or
commonsense) in the forward line and we could have won quite comfortably.

Your not on your own Ripper.
Remember an ugly win is better than a pretty loss.

Poor old Eddiewood have deep psychological problems after the belting they received from Brizzie on Thursday night. Jason Cloke and young Shaw have been sleeping with the lights on since last years GF and to cope another hiding like that will be too much for these young fella's to handle. Sooky M. Sh*thouse is running around pointing the finger, blaming every one but himself and bum buddy Ed. Sooky Ed is trying to deflect their poor performance and lack of talent by bring up the salary cap thing again. This weeks footy show will be all about Freo's prority picks in 2001not being fair .... Freo gets too many games at Subi oval .... whinge whinge.Naffin is sookin to. After sitting on the bench for half the game with his snuggle rug and Kleenex tissues wishing he never left Brizzie, some one should have given him a stuffed toy lion to play with, I think his poor little heart will be broken.
Dockers by 18 points.

This is it folks.

We need to win it .....I have declared it so.

If we have improved we will win ...no honourable loss, no competitive effort.

C'Wood are evil and bad things happen when evil triumphs. No Tarrant, No Wakelin ....play 3 guys on Rocca and we should be right.

A win and nothing less.

RNE baby .....Results Not Excuses.

I gotta agree here.. this is much like the eagles essendon game of last round. If we can't win now, we probably wont beat them for a very long time away. It is -the- perfect opportunity with arguably their best forward and defenders out. They dont have a great ex player death to spur them on this year, they're down, we need to put them out.

A thrashing will be great. A hard fought win just as good. A loss will rob us of confidence and make the rest of our away fixtures just as phsychologically challenging as years gone by.

Carn the dockers

Yep, this game will show whether we have improved or not. The first 3 results have been pretty predictable but this a game we have to win if we want to contend for a top 4 position.

I am pretty confident that we can win and just can't wait til midday Sunday.

Would be absolutly euphoric if we could pinch this one, however I'm by no means confident. I have this nagging feeling at the back of my head that we'll play like crap and get thumped.

So heres hoping the boys absolutely bust their guts to get the four points.

Any ideas on the ins/outs?

Looks like JLo to come back in, and judging by Connolly's comments on the weekend, I'd say at the expense of another forward.

With the Pies likely to have missing a few key players, it does increase our chances of winning - but I'd still say that we are by no means favourites. All I ask is for a competitive match.

yeah, agree totally Ripper, Adelaide tried to dictate the terms and we got the 4 points.

geez you guys were ordinary on the weekend,

Almost as ordinary as you're mob , undies but we did manage to get the 4 points and the boys will feel that they are coming off a loss so will be fired up.

Macca's 150th CC 50th as coach.

Don't know who is playing ATM but there are plenty pushing for a spot.

Expect us to cover Pavlich(Clement, Buckley, Lonie, Presti, Cloke), Haselby (Burns) and Bell (Holland - from u guys and going well) pretty closely. Apart from that will take our chances on the rest i would think.

It will take them all to stop him. ;)

Burns had better be on his game.

Brodie hasn't been that good this year has he?

One of our best imo - last two weeks good - could hold his head up after the brisbane game.

I think Burns will do o.k if given the job on Haselby. Likewise Holland on Bell. I don't think you can limit these guys to much under 20 possessions regardless. Pavlich is the one that concerns me. He is a champ and I have a feeling that he may tear us a new one on Sunday. Forget Lonie, Presti or Cloke. They just won't be good enough. Clement is a possibility but I guess it depends where Pavlich plays. With Wakelin missing, I wouldn't want Clement missing from the back line too much

Heart says Pies, head says Freo. Time will tell. Enjoy the game boys, I know I will.
