The "cost" to Collingwood of keeping their key players has been Leon Davis and perhaps Wellingham. Bit different to our losses.

I was living in North London when Sol Campbell defected from Tottenham to Arsenal. Was nearly a war and Tottenham fans genuinely wanted him dead.

They could have copped him moving to any other club in the world, but not Arsenal.

I think most of us can accept the go home factor. If he goes elsewhere (Mitch Clark style) we as a fan base won't be as accepting.

I know I keep harping on this, but Clark wanted out of Brisbane. He wanted to leave the year before (when the others had) but no deal could be done. He wanted to go home to his daughters but freo/voss couldn't come to terms. He had two big offers on the table from GWS but he didn't want to go there. and freo didn't want to play. Melbourne were a late offer and he chose the lesser of two evils. He accepted less by going to Melbourne in terms of $$$$ and time. So while everyone THINKS they know what's going on with Tippett, the odds are most don't.

Of course. It all counts.

But losing Tippett, Bock and Davis in the space of three years while a club like Collingwood holds onto every single required player without the slightest hiccup is unforgivable, and sees us further and further from anything resembling a premiership.

For what it's worth, I was pro trading the bloke. But if we can't hold onto a player when we want to, three times in a row, there's a serious issue to be sorted.

There is no doubt we have a problem. How a well resourced club like Adelaide, with an exciting list and a great fan base can lose the players we have in the past 2-3 years is unacceptable and the club needs to have a review on what the hell is going wrong.

The club has got its development spot on. They did have their recruiting sorted out. Have we made a mistake in giving Harper the job? I am not blaming Harper for every player that has left but their is a very worrying trend happening and it must not be ignored..

Your quite right Jenny. Kurt has displayed impecible behaviour throughout this whole process. It has not affected the Crows at all and he has always had the best interest of the club at heart. I think he once said at a function that he wants to be a "one club player" (just like every other player that has been drafted).

I think for us to achieve a similar kind of hate to the English football though Kurt would have to announce he's heading to Port before shaving Tex's Mullet off, setting fire to the Westpac centre, shagging Danger's missus and then releasing an online propaganda video stating that Sando isn't the prophet and he's actually a worse coach than Peter Rohde.

Football devotion over there is awesome and insane at the same time. Im kinda glad I can wear crows gear on a train without fear of losing my kidneys.

If he is considering going to Melbourne (? why) then more clubs interested the better, we are fortunate that this is not free agency where high quality players like Goddard can go for unders. Hopefully the whole comp wants him and we can take the highest offer. What he wants will become less important

Yeah, but they still need to pay 95% of the cap. Who are they going to lose? They arent exactly an old side and Saturday was their last hoorah before a bunch of players retire. They might lose Bolton and a bunch of fringe guys.

Unless its misreported, which is very possible, but I cant believe that Sydney would be able to offer Tippett $1m a year unless its heavily backended and hes getting $1.8m in the last year. Its ridiculous.
