Come on Pykie, are you sure it's a man's game?

nah, I'm trying to suggest something a little more severe than that, just stopping short before the big hip-driven swing of the arm.
I think we might be debating a small nuance. I suspect we can agree there should be room for plenty of hard physical contact and agree to disagree on a small margin of grey as to how forceful a punch has to be to fall outside the spirit of the game.

satirically its from the very back of the bottom drawer, but he's mocking social justice warriors not trans people.
Correct on all accounts !!!

I also loathe those who try and guilt mainstream and try to convince them they are intolerant and evil just because they disagree with their political agenda. Traffic lights show the silhouette of a man not a girl crossing the road, that's blatant sexism.

And let's tell kids that they can choose their gender in primary school.

Whatever happened to "treat others how you would like to be treated yourself ?"

Trans and gender diverse people are born into a special kind of hell.
Congratulations on adding another tiny layer of shit they have to deal with you ignorant dick.
Indeed they are. Same as those born with disabilities, both physical and mental. Not their choice, they suffer more than those without their ailment. But I wasn't attacking them at all.

I agree, but Pyke makes an important point that you can't prevent heads of steam being built up on a footy field, its a crucial part of competing in any contact sport.

its not like people go around potting 10 blokes a game.
Mackay does a pretty good job of keeping it under control

this should be a wider concern than it is, its endemic at the ivy league colleges in the US and absurd things are being written into legislation in Canada. Not nearly as out of control here but we should be wary.

the dialectical method is seen as a tool of the patriarchy, they're not interested in it because they believe it validates the illegitimate status of the people they disagree with. That, and having weak arguments anyway is why they won't engage in a debate. Focus on that, learn more about it - doling out sarcasm and insults just plays into their hands.

What if I am an AFL player but I choose to identify as a Netball player ?

I should be allowed to wear a bib that says FF when I take to the field. If you dont celebrate my uniqueness I will call you a bigot.

Send from a feminazi-lesbian gender fluid iPhone.

I combat this with intellect in my real world, And I agree with you that it is scary. Here I am captain Morgan, the swashbuckling drunken pirate who sails the seven seas with his bounty of spiced rum.

What makes me mad are the tendancies of the left to deny or ignore the pillars of western society that have given us tremendous freedoms, technology, equality and quality of life; drowned in the wailings of the self-declared elite who demand we take responsibility for the worlds problems and disproportionately compensate minority's groups who somehow are owed the world.

Nothing controversial there. Move on.
Much more concerned with the game. In fact I'm only concerned with the games.

This is a bad thread.

However, separate from the criticising and defending of something Don Pyke may or may not have said. I am glad for the 'crackdown' (actually ceasing deliberately not enforcing rules,) and really if a player can remember not to walk into an imaginary 10m protected zone around someone taking a kick, then they can remember not to punch someone.

special kind of hell.
That claim is a bit much, considering safe and effective treatments are available if wanted/needed. Dealing with other people is a highly variable affair sadly.

There's tackling and there's tackling. If your aim is to hurt the player, you are doing it wrong. If your aim is to stop the player getting the ball out, then you are doing it right. There are now rules against sling tackles where a player's head is slammed first into the ground - and a damned good thing too. This macho BS is just that. You CAN play the game fairly and without thuggery. Off the ball contact of ANY sort is not on.

This is bullshit. When you tackle aggressively you let the other team know they're in for it. Hurt yes, injure no.

I'm not sure on this. When you tackle your opponent your first priority should obviously be to keep the ball in/cause them to spill the ball, but if you can also hurt them while doing it then you should do so. It's part of a physical game.

Now, if your intention is to injure your opponent, then something is wrong. You can hurt an opponent by dumping them into the turf without dropping them head first or slinging them.
