I have neglected to use the search tool but this sounds like a good idea (in my head) to start from scratch anyway!

The point of this thread is to compare our list to that of one of the 2010 Top 4 Teams (Collingwood, Geelong, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs) by putting all players from both sides in an imaginary pool and then selecting them for a hypothetical 'Best 22'. I will choose my teams on who I see as performing better over the next year, but you may choose to follow suit or make your own criteria

Don't feel restricted to choose between just the top 4 because it could also be fun to choose Richmond and select 22 CFC players :thumbsu:

I'll get the ball rolling..

CARLTON VS. GEELONG:

FB: Jamison, Scarlett, Russell
HB: Corey, Taylor, Enright
C: Bartel, Gibbs, Murphy
HF: Johnson, Henderson, Varcoe
FF: Betts, Waite, Garlett
R: Kreuzer, Judd, Selwood

IC: Warnock, Kelly, Simpson, Chapman

This should be an interesting indicator as to which players need to step up and where there are some gaps in our side..

I declare this debate, OPEN!

Scanning Collingwood's side it'll also be interesting to see how much 'playing the team role' helps with making individuals look better :p

..and how lacking team play can make brilliant players look ordinary at times :(

Our supposed battle for 8th spot :rolleyes:

CARLTON VS. NORTH MELBOURNE

FB: Grima, Jamison, Rawlings
HB: Firrito, Bower, Russell
C: Gibbs, Ziebell, Murphy
HF: Harvey, Waite, Garlett
FF: Thomas, Petrie, Betts
R: Kreuzer, Judd, Swallow

IC: McIntosh, Wells, Simpson, Cunnington

thoughts?

- Couldn't leave Thomas out after he kicked 1million goals on us
- I honestly haven't seen enough of the Roos to compare Cunnington and Bastinac
- If I had both McLean and Ziebell in my side, I'd say move over Brock
- Hendo not quite ready to surpass him

pretty close numbers there...but I think our players in that side are better than their players in the side (if that makes sense)

Your Hawks one I suspect will change this year...

Rough over Waite?

I still have Waite there, but I'm just stuck with him playing half-forward right now.

Ziebell will be good, but I just think we may have forgotten just how good Brock is at getting the ball from the centre.
Out of sight, out of mind probably
.

That "Thomas" night was a debacle. Once in a lifetime performance from the small man.

good point, you're an ideas man Harks :thumbsu:

KPD could be better.

Some quicker outside mids wouldn't hurt but individually they'd dominate..Hodge and Judd in the same side :drool:

I'd probably get rid of Roughead and swap him with Waite, then give Waite's spot to Yarran. Finally I'd replace Poopooloo with Simmo :)

FB: Armfield :: Frawley :: Russell
HB: Davey :: Bower :: Grimes
C: Gibbs :: Scully :: Simpson
HF: Jurrah :: Waite :: Green
FF: Betts :: Henderson :: Garlett
R: Jamar :: Judd :: Murphy
B: Kreuzer :: Moloney :: Trengove
E: Lucas

Sorry Jamo, but right now it's Frawley.

I'm sure I've missed people.

Fire at will.

pretty short backline, would put Davey on the bench instead of Moloney and slot JR into HB and Jamo where he was before.

That's a damn good side though! I guess we could rank the mutant sides against each other once there's enough haha

I'm just hoping this is a precursor to another fantasy draft. :p

And I agree with the Davey/Jamo call.

Tempting, but I just started my new thread for the week.

We should do another fantasy draft for sure. We're heading into what is usually the quietest period for BigFooty (except for Richmond supporters), so it's probably best to wait until early next year.

Sorry to intrude on your thread, but surely Steve Johnson deserves a spot? Kicked about 65 goals this year. Will probably kick at least 40 next year. Possibly 55+.
