Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

yeah but it still keeps the thread at the top of the page

Keeping the thread at the top of the page is not important. If people are interested in the thread, it'll stay at the top of the thread until it dies down. There is no need to unnecessarily 'bump' the thread for no reason

But I have to bumb the thread if peoples entries aren't being shown

Look Haro long story short.
We don't like the idea

Maybe you... maybe...

Keep the ideas coming, though. It's always good to have new innovations and ideas.

And for the sake of yourself, please come up with some good ideas because I don't want to see that "Okay *dejected, sad face*" again. :p

But in all seriousness, don't worry when an idea gets knocked back.

E92_'s NAFL creating precedent across the Footy Jumpers and Graphic Design board.

Over the past week, the FJGD board has been gripped with the developments of the refreshed NAFL. This, in turn has brought precedent to the board.

I believe that each members should be given the chance to have the same opportunity to run their competition as E92_ has done so far. I will explain this using the Doctrine of Precedent.

BINDING PRECEDENTS AND PERSUASIVE PRECEDENTS

BINDING

A binding precedent is a precedent that must be followed. All of the following elements must be present for a precedent to be considered binding:
· The precedent must be from a superior court of record, higher in the court hierarchy than the court that is current hearing the case; AND
· The precedent must be from a court from the same court hierarchy; AND
· The precedent must be from a case that has similar material facts to the case currently before the court.

If any of these elements are missing, the precedent will not be binding.

The first and second dot point is irrelevant in the context of this board as there are no levels of authority.
I would like to draw your attention to the third dot point, where it says 'similar material facts'. this means that all other competition ideas with the same idea, should be given the same treatment. For example, as E92_'s competition is a round-robin format, he was given the opportunity to create a lgoo design thread, and was given a thread to for franchise bidding, all comps with the similar needs should be given the same opportunity to do so.

However, for example, if the competition does not need a logo and franchises, the above will not apply and it does not have the same requirements, and new precedent will be created on that decision.

The above is how the Australian Court system runs on 'how to make decisions' so that people are given a fair opportunity when accessing the law.

I would like to bring this law into action when we choose to create competitions on this board.

I also realize that many of you will be against this, but I think it needs to be done to help create a system to ensure opportunity and equality.

tl;dr version:
- equal opportunities for competition creators
- the NAFL setting precedent
- same type of comps have the same requirements
- #hatersgonnahate

Basically you're saying that, in order to level the playing field, you want to bring others down, rather than bring yourself up? Oh akkaps, this is a whole new level of stupid from you, buddy, and that's saying something. Lol. Why don't you just try to be creative for once? You're quite happy just so sit there on your hands and call yourself a designer, when all you really do is recolour existing designs on paint. Seriously, lift your game.

My Idea for a new comp is making jumpers for sponsors so make a jumper for ISC first then make a jumper for Star Athletic etc. That is my idea but this is the reply I'll get
"No. Just no. Just no, no that is the worst idea I've ever heard"
And that is the reply I'll get. Someone will take the piss out of what I though the reply will be.
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Uhh the Jersey Design comps ring a bell? Win one then request it its not that hard

I'm not saying it's a bad idea... but what's the point of that?

If someone is super keen to continue on with LogoOTW I'm happy for someone else to run it, provided the format doesn't change too much.

It was a pretty successful comp, running for over a year, and I know I learned a lot about logo making from it.

Non-Sports Logo is taking over your idea by itself

How about
Non Sports Logo in the off season
Logo Of the week in the footy season

Remind me again, was the 10 likes limit for workshops AND comps or just comps?
Just comps, but it's still worth posting workshop ideas as there many workshops out there that may be similar to another's idea.
