New Idea
CFL.png
You bid for a company, and you make a Football Club out of them (Like COTF) You design a home, away and clash jumper + a logo for your selected company etc. Google FC. There are 14 spots. Then everyones jumpers are put into a poll thread and the 6 jumpers that have the least votes get kicked out. Then another poll thread is created containing 8 entries and the 3 jumpers that get the least amount of votes get kicked out. Another poll thread is created containing the last 5 jumpers and the 3 jumpers with the least votes gets kicked out. Then there is a Grand Final with 2 entries and the winner of that wins the whole thing getting some form of prize. Each person is allowed to vote 3 times per round except the Grand Final, if they vote for more than 3 entries their votes aren't counted.

Please don't give an example of the type of comp. For example: you used (like COTF). It tells us that your idea is not original, and that the concept has been taken from elsewhere. It seems to mr that you are desperate to make a competition. Relax, it's not that important to run a comp.

Sorry for the hate. Just giving my opinion.

An update on CCCC. My rules ideas if anyone wants to go ahead with this.

CCCC: Cross Code Combination Competition Version 3

The Idea: Create a set of AFL guernseys for an Aussie Rules team from the AFL, VFL, WAFL, SANFL or NEAFL and another team from around the world.

However, there must be some connection between the two teams, the only rule towards this is that it has to make sense and in the current year. At the moment this will include 2014 kits, names, and colours.

For example, if the nominated team that week were the Sandringham Dragons, they could be merged with:
· St George Illawarra Dragons (Both share the dragon as a mascot/nickname)
· Sandringham Zebras (both teams are based in the same city)
· New Zealand Kiwis Rugby League team (Both teams have a deep double V in their designs

The Rules:
Maximum of two entry per person.
Minimum of two uniforms per entry (home and clash).
Maximum of four uniforms per entry (home and clash, plus away, and if the designer wants, a uniform for the opposite sport. Baseball shirt for a baseball merger etc)
Logos are encouraged, but not required. Logos can be re-coloured or re-hashed versions of existing logos, combined elements from logos of both teams, "borrowed" from other teams in other sports, or completely original.
Each entry must be in one image

Im keen for this comp! May I suggest the winner from the previous week nominates the Aussie Rules club to work with?

I won't be here for the next three weeks to run it, but before I forget the idea:

As we saw the Charlotte Hornets release a range of logos yesterday, I though we could attempt to do this for the AFL teams. This would mean about 5-10 different logos for each club. Logo categories would include: Official logo, Away Logo, Wordmark, Monogram, etc.

If this gets the ten likes, I don't mind if someone else wants to run it.

Would each week be a different club or a different category?

Would each week be a different club or a different category?
Maybe a way to do it would be 1 club 2 categories/polls. Say week 1 is Port Adelaide one category could be logos (official, alternate, monograms eyc.)the other catergory could be the wordmarks.

Another way would be run a season of the logo category and then run a season of wordmarks after, or alternate each week? Week 1-Port's Logo then Week 2-North Melb Wordmark.

Or perhaps have one club a week, where designer come up with one of all categorys (one monogram, alternate logo, wordmark etc) and compile that into the one picture pyramid like what the Hornets released

Yes this would work well. Id be happy to run the comp providing akkaps post gets 10 likes.

International Football Association
So this is like NAFL, except it's international and there are divisions based on skill level, each with 5 spots; Europe/Africa, Asia/Oceania & the Americas. People bid to get in, and the top 5 designers who bid will get assigned to Europe/Africa and they can create a franchise in any European or African city etc. London, Berlin, Cape Town, Lagos, Cario, Madrid, Paris. The middle class of designers get the Americas and will do the same, as will the bottom 5 who get Asia/Oceania (What class of designers get assigned to what can be argued about later).
Dot points:
  • The polls are the same format as NAFL
  • You play teams from your division twice, and 1/2 of the other teams
  • You will create a home, same division away, outer division away and clash for your team
  • There will be finals, in AFL format (Top 8)
  • You are placed in a division (Europe/Africa, Asia/Oceania and The Americas) based on your skill level
  • There are 15 spots available

Sounds interesting, but I'd hold off until after the holiday period when the board starts to be a bit more active (granted this year hasn't been as bad as the last couple but the activity has slowed).

I was going to do one club at a time. Doing each individually will take too long

- Logo
- Alternative logo
- Monogram
- Wordmark
And maybe Stadium logo
I'll probably put LogoOTW on hiatus if that comp starts. I love me a good logo comp

Yours will always be remembered as the one that started this craze.

What about an alternate history for teams like University, Fitzroy, Melbourne Hawks etc.

I think a workshop would be suffice.

Coming from Fizzler s idea
"What If?" Wednesdays
Ever wondered "What if The Bears still existed?" or "What if Tasmania had a team?"
Each Wednesday a non-existing team that has been known in the AFL world as a proposition or a former team will have a spot in the 2014 AFL Season and your job is to create a Home, Away and Clash or Heritage kit and Club Logo for the proposed/former team. It is known that some teams have been used for Workshops or Competitions in the past, but there has been a wave of new designers since then and it would be a great chance for them to bring out their nostalgic side for these pieces of alternate history.

List of Proposed/Former teams
- University in 2014
- Brisbane Bears in 2014
- Fitzroy Lions in 2014
- Sydney Lions in 2014
- Melbourne Hawks in 2014
- North Fitzroy Kangaroos in 2014
- Fitzroy Bulldogs in 2014
- Tasmanian team in 2014
- Sydney Celtics in 2014
