Too clever and too skillful given the conditions. Your recent dominance over us continues.

Well done.

This was not the biggest margin, but it was easily the best win by either side ever. Fraaark what a torture.
Yes I did sit through all of it. Till the final siren.

Nothing to do with conditions. I'd go as far as saying that if anything, the conditions helped us.
Too good, too well coached.

Thanks to the Port boys for their sportsmanship. :thumbsu:

We've been in those shoes and know how bloody much it hurts when the team is struggling.

Once again - good stuff fellas. :thumbsu:

Yeah congratulations, by far the better side. I really think your in for a corker of a year, the Adelaide/WC grand final just seems so obvious.

Although looking through your best player votes tonight, Motlop must be stiff not to get a vote for you guys.:p

I never thought the table would turn, but it certainly has. Hopefully we can give you a spirited contest in 2-3 years.

Great footy weather!!!

Seriously though, that must be the most it has pi$$ed down at a crows game here for aaaaggggggeeess. There was a game against hawtorn a while back 2002 i think that was a little wet, but this took it to a new level!!! I was soaked, will probably spend the next week in bed with the flu (haha, nah), and my phone seems like it is dead from all the water...but it was all worth it in the end.

I haven't experienced that much rain at a footy game since going to Crows v Carlton at OO in 2001 (the game when our boys mobbed Ayres after the siren). I swear the lightning at that game was no more than a few hundred metres from the ground and the rain so heavy that my beer cup was actually filling up.

At least last night I got to sit in the comfort and dry of the northern stand and got picked up by the wife right outside the ground 1min after the siren.

Something alot of Port supporters didn't understand between 2001-2003 is that footy is cyclical and the tables always turn, especially in this competition. I would say they MAY turn again in 2-3 years when Macca, Roo, Goody, Hart and Edwards all retire.

There was a game a cpl of years ago when the bombers played there poured down similar to that.

Yep when Carey cut his knee on the goal post.

I remember that game but I dont think that it pi$sed down that much, last night it was non-stop for 3 quarters. Brought back memories of my first AFL game in 95 v the Roos, when carey was stretchered off, lightning and thunder....unforgettable game that.

While that is true, it is also a bit simplistic. We should be giving a better contest than we are, that is why a lot of Port supporters are fissed off atm. Nobody is saying we should be winning a premiership, but not giving a contest is a different story

We have plenty of players that should be top shelf or close to it at their peak age wise right now yet their output is anything but. Not too different to you lot a couple of years back.
Your biggest improvement has come from these players not the younger ones. Your top liners started playing like top liners again and the youngsters followed not the other way around.

Fair comment. Your top 6 are as good as any in the competition Tredrea ( although obviously carrying an injury ), C Cornes, Lade, S Burgo, P Burg, K Cornes. Its after that where it really drops off. The best comment I have seen on the Port board for quite awhile is that Choccos Gold Pass mentality of 2005 has stifled the development of the likes of Ebert, Salopak, Pettigrew, Chaplin, White etc. These are the players who should now be stepping up but there development has been seriously hindered by at least a year.

Ebert, White, Pettigrew, Salopak are in the 21-25 agre bracket and should have been playing regular footy last year. Also, If Chocco was serious about developing your list, Thommo shouldn't be wasting away at Sturt.

You must also consider, as much as us supporters overrate our respective lists, all of Ebert, Pettigrew, Chaplin, Willitts, Surjan, Salopak, White etc will not be good enough to play 100 games. Chaplin, White and Salopak of that list look the most likely types.

You should venture to our board more often Springy.
That has been our biggest gripe since Choco took over and not just last year.

He would rather trade for an average 50 game player than spend time and effort to develop one himself.
Players we trade for are given every chance to perform yet youngsters have to play like top liners to get a go the following week, and even then it is not guaranteed. We have had a few youngsters come in, play a top game and get dropped the following week.

Cheers to the Port guys who venture on to our board. You guys are still a good chance to make the finals ... but have some decisions ahead about risking losing games by playing the younger guys. For me your main problem (which I have talked with my Port mates) is redeveloping your midfield. You should be playing your best players there - ie. Both Cornes & Burgoynes, Cassisi & Salopek. I would be playing Thurstans & CHB (give Chaplin time to develop as your 3rd tall defender with Wakelin FB) & perist with White @ CHF (why pull him off the ground?0

What he said.... but also you need another forward target.
I think Port are too Tredrea-centric; which is fine when he's there but Im sure he was in our forward 50 last night when you guys had the wind. Buggered if I could work that one out?
